(Heavy Object's physics were way too ridiculous.)
"Let her see whatever she wanted. As long as you kept an eye on her, that was enough."
In Kal'tsit's office, after Bai Ye told her about Dusk's request, Kal'tsit did not reject Dusk's application.
"Doctor Kal'tsit had known about the true nature of beings like Dusk and Nian for a while, hadn't you?" Bai Ye asked with a smile.
"I merely had a few vague clues." Doctor Kal'tsit gently shook her head, but did not deny it.
"No wonder Doctor Kal'tsit wasn't surprised when she heard about our strange encounter. As expected, nothing in this world can be hidden from you..." Bai Ye sighed as he spoke.
Doctor Kal'tsit raised her gaze from her desk and looked at Bai Ye.
"Perhaps Dusk and Nian surprised me less than you did..."
Bai Ye did not know how to respond.
Hearing Doctor Kal'tsit put it that way was actually rather embarrassing...
Bai Ye vaguely felt that Doctor Kal'tsit had already made some guesses about his identity and origins. However, for certain reasons, she had not exposed the topic that would make everyone uncomfortable.
Bai Ye himself no longer particularly cared. Given his current strength, it no longer mattered even if that secret were exposed. Moreover, he had formed deep bonds on Rhodes Island, so even if he told the truth, there would be no rift between either side.
Still, Bai Ye would not reveal it on his own initiative. Letting things remain this way was fine too; there would be no harm in waiting for the right moment to say it.
Everything needed an opportunity, didn't it?
"By the way, Doctor Kal'tsit, I noticed that Rhodes Island's course has changed recently. Did something happen?"
After a moment of silence, Bai Ye changed the subject.
