Uchiha Fugaku had never expected that they would no longer care about being demoted after they had already left the Police Force.

It seemed the Clan Head did not know the reason behind it. Someone had to explain it to him, but they exchanged glances and none of them wanted to provoke Uchiha Fugaku.

"What are you waiting for? Go bring Uchiha Xia and the other captains back!" Uchiha Fugaku angrily shouted at the people standing there without moving.

The two captains behind him also urged them to go find the men.

Uchiha Xia and the captains who had left without permission had put them at a disadvantage once again during this apology.

"Clan Head." Someone spoke, but the words that followed never came out.

"You still aren't going?" Uchiha Fugaku looked at them, anger in his voice, especially when he saw that the dozen or so people remained motionless. "Do you also want to leave the Police Force?"

His furious rebuke made the remaining dozen or so people look grim.

In the end, the man who had spoken first gritted his teeth and said, "Clan Head, you may not know this, but Captain Xia and the others have already withdrawn from the Police Force. Before leaving, Captain Xia asked us to inform you!"

"Withdrawn from the Police Force? Hahaha. Good. Very good. Uchiha Xia, you actually dared to make this real!" Uchiha Fugaku sneered and looked at the remaining people. "Go call back the patrolmen who are still out. Today, I'll announce a new selection for captain positions. Since they don't want to be captains, our Police Force isn't short on captains!"

But this time, Even after Uchiha Fugaku finished speaking, the dozen or so people still stood where they were.

"Why aren't you going yet? Do you still intend to defy me?" Uchiha Fugaku stared at them coldly, his tone calm.

The man gave another bitter smile and looked at Uchiha Heifugaku. "Clan Head Fugaku, the others have also left the Police Force. Now, only people like us remain in the Police Force. No one else wants to work for the Police Force anymore!"

His brow twitched.

The corner of his mouth spasmed.

Uchiha Fugaku's expression became incomparably ugly. Uchiha Xia had truly done well—he had taken the clansmen away with him.

He now hated Uchiha Xia to the extreme.

Such a massive Police Force, reduced to only a dozen or so people. Pathetic. Laughable.

"Did they say where they went?" Uchiha Fugaku pressed again.

The lowly subordinate did not dare hide anything, and there was sorrow in his voice. "Th-they went to join Uchiha Hanjō. Judging by the time, they should have been there for quite a while already!"

Uchiha Hanjō, Uchiha Hanjō again.

Damn it.

It was all Uchiha Hanjō's fault. If he had not said those things when he was Clan Head, these people would not have dared oppose him, much less leave the Police Force.

"Clan Head, should we call Uchiha Xia and the others back?" The two captains following behind him looked awful as well. It would have been one thing if Uchiha Xia had joined Uchiha Hanjō by himself, but he had taken more than half of the Police Force with him.

They were the bulk of the Police Force's strength, as well as the backbone of the Uchiha Clan, yet he had taken all of them away.

The remaining dozen or so people simply could not handle security for half of Konoha.

"Hmph, if they want to keep following Uchiha Hanjō, then let them. I only hope they won't regret it later!" A cold glint flashed in Uchiha Fugaku's eyes, and his tone was especially grave.

He would make those people regret it. He would make the Uchiha clansmen who left regret it.

"But..." The man still wanted to explain, but when the words reached his lips, he did not know how to continue.

Without those people to patrol, a dozen or so men could not possibly handle security in the civilian district.

"No buts. From now on, you two will be in charge of the Police Force and manage security in Konoha's civilian district!" Uchiha Fugaku told them solemnly. "There is one more matter I need to inform you of!"

"What matter?" They had still been thinking about how to allocate the mere dozen or so people they had left. Fugaku's words immediately drew everyone's attention.

"Because of my violent law enforcement this time, we need to compensate those people a total of 650,000 Ryo. Konoha currently allocates 500,000 Ryo to our Police Force every month. You should be frugal for now. Once the debt is paid off, I'll raise your wages!" Fugaku spoke again as he looked at them.

His tone made it sound as though he were granting them charity.

A dozen or so people, 500,000 Ryo!

That came to around 30,000 Ryo per person. Compared to their previous income of less than 10,000 Ryo each, it was like heaven and earth.

Everyone began to waver, and some even felt fortunate that Uchiha Xia had taken people away.

Konoha's living expenses had been rising recently. Several thousand Ryo could not support a family at all; it could barely keep them afloat.

They would just have to tighten their belts for the next two months.

Medical Clinic.

"Young Master Sarutobi, how did we perform?" After Fugaku and the others left, the people here returned to acting like street thugs and looked at Sarutobi Asuma ingratiatingly.

That was no small sum. They could live it up for another while.

The other thugs also had gleaming eyes.

"At least you know what's good for you!" Only then did Sarutobi Asuma reveal a satisfied smile. "Starting today, cause trouble in the civilian district. Keep provoking any Uchiha clansmen you encounter. If they hit you, just lie down on the ground. I'll back you up!"

"Hehe, got it!" Smiles appeared on Yamanaka Sandan and the others' faces. The Uchiha Clan was a perfect cash cow. As long as they still dared to strike, they would head straight to the hospital and demand compensation afterward.

Sarutobi Asuma nodded, then walked out of the clinic. Looking at the dozen or so people who had long been waiting outside, a confident smile curled across his lips. "Boys, come with me and inspect the territory under our control!"

"Yes!"

The dozen men answered in unison with low shouts.

These people were all captains. After familiarizing themselves with their assigned areas today, they would officially begin work tomorrow.

Next, after inspecting the territories of the major clans, they approached a civilian district. This was the only civilian district within the area they had divided up.

"Asuma-sama, this is the only civilian district under our jurisdiction, and also the most chaotic area we need to manage!" As soon as they arrived, someone behind him stepped forward to remind him.

"The most chaotic area?" Sarutobi Asuma took a drag of his cigarette, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Interesting. Let's see just how chaotic they really are."
