Xuanyu felt as though he had heard a hilarious joke. It was simply too ridiculous. A prisoner actually dared to threaten him?
At that thought,
A mocking smile curled across Xuanyu's lips.
"What are you laughing at? Have you realized your mistake and been scared stupid? Let me tell you." Sarutobi Konohamaru continued rambling. Perhaps his formerly lofty life had made it difficult for him to accept the fall from grace of becoming a prisoner, causing the boy to suffer a mental breakdown.
It was not only Xuanyu. Everyone else looking at Konohamaru at that moment had ridicule in their eyes as well.
"Heh. It seems our young master still doesn't understand the current situation." Xuanyu looked at the somewhat crazed Sarutobi Konohamaru, then kicked him over with one foot, turning his face toward Sarutobi Hiruzen, who was fighting Orochimaru. "Take a good look at your grandfather. See whether he can help you!"
Xuanyu did not seem to want to finish Konohamaru off so quickly. Instead, he wanted him to face reality.
"Grandfather?"
When Sarutobi Konohamaru saw Sarutobi Hiruzen, his hair disheveled as Orochimaru relentlessly beat him down, his eyes widened. His face was filled with disbelief and shock.
After the shock came frantic head-shaking. "No, no... This has to be genjutsu, genjutsu. My grandfather can't possibly be like this. Yes, it has to be genjutsu. How could Konoha possibly have such a tall tree?"
"Uchiha Xuan Yu, you want to deceive me by making me see my grandfather defeated. Do you want me to beg you for mercy? I never thought I'd see through your genjutsu!"
"My proud Sarutobi Clan will never beg you for mercy."
