Background / History

Xuanyu is ostracized by peers at the Training Grounds, where his attempt to share food is ignored and mocked. Uchiha Izumi alone offers him food and treats him sympathetically. When Itachi arrives, he dismisses Xuanyu and takes Izumi away to cultivate; Xuanyu responds with disdain for Itachi but remains unfazed by the broader exclusion. 4

He begins studying shuriken throwing, claiming he can learn the technique by observation despite disbelief from both coaches and students. 4

By the time of Itachi and Shisui's meeting, Xuanyu has been training his body under Might Guy. Although he possesses immense Chakra, he cannot use it: it dissipates from his body “like a funnel.” 15
