Penguin Logistics' headquarters was located high up in one of the buildings at Primeval Plaza. However, the place they had been asked to attend the interview was not there, but a bar near Lungmen's Sunset Avenue.

Although it was some distance from the Guard Department, after hailing a taxi and walking for roughly thirty minutes, the two arrived there.

Only a few scattered patrons were seated in the bar at the moment. On the other side of the counter stood a Liberi, one who looked no different from the penguins Roy remembered. He was probably the manager of this jazz bar.

At a round table in the corner sat someone with a halo above their head and wings of light behind them, glowing faintly as though assembled from randomly arranged tangram pieces. It was a Sankta. If Roy remembered correctly, that race seemed particularly skilled with firearms, and guns were always found at their side.

Opposite the Sankta sat a Forte girl, organizing something that looked like a ledger. Judging by the warhammer and shield placed beside her, she was a Defender.

The moment the two entered, those people noticed them. It was clear that none of them were ordinary people. Perhaps they were Penguin Logistics personnel.

"Sir, we run a legitimate business here."

As Roy and Texas reached the bar and sat down, the penguin-like Liberi spoke in a voice full of rap-style flair.

"This isn't work hours, and I'm only accompanying this young lady to an interview. You needn't worry, boss."

As he spoke, Roy pulled over the "menu." After looking through it, he pointed at one line and continued.

"Give me a glass of baijiu. Also, has no one ever suggested you become a rapper?"

"Hahaha, I didn't expect one of his subordinates to have such good taste."

As he spoke, the penguin turned and took an elaborately decorated bottle from the wine rack, then pulled an exquisite glass from the cabinet below.

After filling the glass, he pushed it in front of Roy.

Though no emotional changes could be seen on his penguin face, judging from his words and the noticeably more relaxed atmosphere around them, the big penguin was in a fairly good mood.

"If you're here for a Penguin Logistics interview, just go find them. As for this drink..."

"Consider it my treat."

After saying that, the big penguin returned to his original seat. Roy did not hesitate either, lifting the glass and draining it in one gulp.

He drank, but he was not a heavy drinker. He had first tried alcohol only to deal with social functions. Naturally, after finishing that glass, Roy did not order another.

At that moment, he was pondering the big penguin's words.

For him to say Roy was someone from the Guard Department's subordinate meant that person's position had to be quite high. Besides, this Liberi was clearly no ordinary person either.

Texas had already followed the big penguin's directions to find the Sankta and the Forte. At that moment, only Roy and the big penguin remained at the bar.

"I didn't expect you to know a nobody like me..."

"After all, word that you turned down that person's invitation has already spread throughout Lungmen's upper circles."

"..."

It had only happened a short while ago, yet he already knew about it. That was clearly proof that his identity was anything but simple.

As for whether Roy should ask him about that person?

In the end, Roy said nothing. He did not know whether the big penguin stood on the same side as that person, and asking so directly would obviously be inappropriate.

To obtain something, one had to pay a corresponding price. For those who controlled capital, things were that simple. Roy, however, had nothing worthy of exchange, and he had no intention of getting information about those people's leader from him.

"Boss, we're OK over here."

"Then take the newcomer and let her familiarize herself with the work environment."

After that, the two led Texas deeper into the bar. At that moment, only Roy and the big penguin remained in this space. At least, on the surface, only the two of them were there.

Roy believed that if he showed even the slightest hostility, someone would immediately jump out to deal with him. Perhaps not to the extent of three hundred axemen, but enough to give Roy trouble.

He had no intention of causing unnecessary trouble.

Since things had been settled on Texas's end, there was no need for him to stay any longer.

"Be careful. Someone will be out to harm you soon."

Perhaps seeing that Roy was about to leave, the big penguin suddenly said this.

The instant he stood up, Roy paused briefly before continuing.

"Thank you for the information, but my life won't be taken so easily."

With that, Roy left the bar...

Half an hour later, Special Operations Group office, Lungmen Guard Department.

Chen Zheng was seated before a computer, her fingers flying across the keyboard.

Since that incident ended, Chen had received a short vacation measured in hours, and she had only returned to the Guard Department yesterday.

Just last night, a serious incident had occurred at Primeval Plaza. She had already reviewed the information related to it, and to her surprise, Roy had once again been at the scene. It caught her off guard, while also strengthening her resolve to recommend Roy to the higher-ups.

No talent should be buried, and now she would provide Roy with an opportunity.

After checking the document on the computer once more and confirming there were no errors, Chen printed it out. She then signed her name in the recommender section below and wrote down her badge number. Next, she took out the Special Operations Group's official seal from a drawer and stamped it beneath the organization's name before shutting down the computer.

Holding the document, she left the office and headed for Human Resources. Although, as a chief inspector, she did indeed have a quota to recommend auxiliary officers within the police force for promotion to full officers, the matter still had to go through layer upon layer of review. In the end, even the leader of the Guard Department had to sign off before the entire process could be completed. That was why she went to Human Resources first.

"Yo, Chen Sir, what brings you to Human Resources?"

"I'm planning to recommend someone to join the Special Operations Group."
