Background / History
Roy was originally a police officer from Earth. After graduating in 2015, he entered the police force, served in a special unit until 2018, then returned to his hometown's public-security bureau as a special-police officer. In 2020, shortly before beginning a vacation, he was transported to Terra under unknown circumstances. 92
He awakened his Origin Fragment in a Lungmen alley while surrounded by starving wild dogs. The system registered him as a Level 1 Human Swordsman and supplied the skill Slash, allowing him to defend himself despite having no prior experience with mana or combat skills. 1
In Lungmen, Roy served as an Auxiliary Police Corps instructor before Director Wei Yenwu made his Guard Department position permanent. Chen Huijie assessed him through hand-to-hand combat, police tactics, firearms, fitness, and weapons trials, then transferred him into the Special Operations Group. 14 15
His insistence on justice brought him into conflict with corruption and the Six Harmonies Society. After refusing Wei Yenwu's offer to assassinate the Young Master, Roy confronted and killed the crime lord himself. Chen formally attempted to arrest him, but deliberately gave him an opportunity to escape; Roy subsequently left Lungmen for Kazdel. 28 31
In Kazdel, Roy temporarily joined a Sarkaz mercenary squad and defeated W in a lethal spar. When his standard saber finally shattered after prolonged combat, he acquired the sentient blood-red blade Lemuenia and formed a contract with her. 34 35 39
Babel Tower later recruited Roy after recognizing him as “someone from the past” and identifying Lemuenia as a projection of his awakened Origin Shard. He joined after seeing Babel Tower's stated commitment to aiding the Infected, then accepted responsibility for guiding Amiya's values as her political studies teacher. 42 43 80
Roy eventually became a leading figure in the Reunion Movement and later the People's Revolutionary Committee. Although he took part in negotiations and armed struggles across Terra, he repeatedly maintained that he did not seek rulership or noble status for himself. 213 276 404
Appearance
Roy's ordinary appearance includes neat black hair, brown eyes, and a Yanese complexion. His Origin-based powers can alter both his appearance and the way others perceive him. 106 237
- His disguise ability can change his hair to white, eyes to crimson, skin tone to pale, and even alter his sex and physique. 106
- When fighting with Lemuenia, he is often surrounded by blood-red radiance. 69
- His combat equipment commonly consists of Yamato and Lemuenia, the latter often floating independently behind him. 39 119
Personality
Roy is driven by a firm belief that law enforcement must uphold justice rather than serve corruption. He accepts personal consequences for this principle, including disciplinary action, exile from Lungmen, and direct opposition to powerful rulers. 25 28
Though decisive in battle, he is not indiscriminately violent. He saves others without expecting compensation, refuses to treat assassination as ordinary work, and restrains Lemuenia when her bloodlust threatens noncombatants. 28 41 57
Roy is analytical and cautious in political or intelligence matters. He avoids revealing information unnecessarily, tests other parties through conversation, and can identify surveillance devices, hidden motives, and weaknesses in physical structures. 42 63 216 284
Abilities & Skills
Origin Fragment — Origin of the Sword
Roy possesses Origin Fragment No. 002, identified by the system as the Origin of the Sword. It initially manifested as a guidance system, but after restoration it became a source of increasingly independent divine power. 92 120 241
- Projects weapons and techniques that do not naturally belong to Terra, including Lemuenia and Yamato. 42 145
- Generates large-scale phantom sword formations capable of repeatedly striking a target before concentrating their power into a final blow. 155
- Allows him to confront gods and entities empowered by Origin Fragments on comparable terms. 251 322
- Its restoration removed much of the original system's mission-based guidance, leaving Roy to develop his abilities through experience and combat. 120
Swordsmanship
Roy's core fighting style is Shadow Ghost Swordsmanship, later developed into Ultimate Ghost Swordsmanship. His training and Origin-derived techniques give him exceptional weapon proficiency and combat judgment. 7 216
- Slash — His first system skill; creates a silver crescent of force capable of cutting through multiple wild dogs. 1
- Block — A defensive stance that can intercept arrows, bolts, and even etched rounds from the front. 19
- Weapon Mastery — Gives Roy instinctive understanding of weapon use and construction. 19
- Weapon Breaker — Draws performance beyond a weapon's normal limits, but drastically shortens its lifespan. 19 38
- Ultimate Ghost Swordsmanship: Iron Slash — Reveals weaknesses in an opponent or object's structure, improving the precision and effectiveness of his strikes. 216
- His ability to exploit weaknesses allowed him to shatter an enormous block of Oriron with Yamato during Rhodes Island's employment assessment. 216
Spatial Manipulation
Through Yamato and his Origin-derived power, Roy can manipulate space for movement, defense, and offense. 114 119 216
- Opens spatial rifts for long-distance travel and battlefield repositioning. 114 233
- Performs short-range spatial movement quickly enough to appear to teleport during evasion tests. 216
- Uses spatial slashes to sever targets and create rifts that consume portions of an enemy's body. 310 322
- Dimensional Slash: Absolute creates a temporal-spatial severance domain that devastates the surrounding battlefield. 119
- Can create phantoms wielding Yamato to intercept attacks independently. 120
Lemuenia's Blood Power
Lemuenia is a sentient blade bound to Roy through a vitality-consuming contract. Its blood-red power is especially effective against regeneration and deep-sea corruption. 39 145
- Fights independently and can rapidly attack multiple targets without Roy directly holding her. 39 49
- Absorbs life force to restore vitality, while slowly draining Roy's vitality as the cost of their contract. 39
- Suppresses regeneration and decays the flesh of deep-sea creatures. 145
- Consumed the core of a regenerating sea monster to end its revival. 145
- Can manifest as a separate woman after Roy divides his Origin. 224
Originium Energy Suppression
Roy can interfere directly with Originium energy and Originium Arts despite considering himself to have little conventional Arts aptitude. 120 215
- Temporarily disables an opponent's active Originium energy, weakening their physical enhancement. 120
- Is highly resistant to threats that remain within the framework of Originium Arts. 255
- His Rhodes Island assessment nevertheless recorded Defective Originium Arts Adaptability. 216
Domain
After witnessing an Imperial Guard use Domain, Roy learned a version of the technique himself. 222
- Creates a field that rejects external force not belonging to Roy if it does not surpass his own level of power. 222
- Within the Domain, he is described as a “Transcendent.” 222
Camouflage and Intangibility
Roy can conceal his presence or partially displace his body beyond the ordinary world. 207 237
- His camouflage prevents ordinary observers and surveillance devices from perceiving him. 237
- The camouflage can be detected by sufficiently unusual abilities or beings within two stages of his realm. 237
- After fully releasing source power, sections of his body can shift to “the other side of the world,” causing attacks to pass through without injury. 207
