Han Fei casually slapped a Little Bread onto his shield, then sprinted forward.

When he was only a few steps away from the Siracusans, the jetpack on his back suddenly blasted out a white surge of air.

Propelled by the jetpack, Han Fei felt like he was flying!

The Siracusans blocking his path certainly did not feel the same way.

The instant the shield collided with flesh, the Siracusan facing Han Fei was sent flying backward. The moment he hit the ground, the unlucky man felt as if he had been run over by a heavy truck. Every bone in his body seemed shattered, and pain wracked him from head to toe.

Before he could even cry out, a strange soundwave suddenly pierced his eardrums.

Amid a burst of agony, his vision went black, and he fell silent forever.

After sending a whole group of Siracusans flying, Han Fei slapped another Little Bread onto his shield and shouted,

"Hey, these guys alone can't stop me. I know you've got plenty of people. Don't make me wait too long. Come out and face me!"

PS: I've got a mutual promotion with my friend. Our teacher Bei Wangyue Xiaobei has a new book: I Do Every Evil Deed in Terra, a Delta Force + Arknights travel slice-of-life story.

Synopsis: In the year 1095 of the Terra calendar, the city where I lived was rated the safest district in all of Columbia.

I made an indelible contribution to that.

Because I turned over a new leaf.

Penguin Logistics' Emperor spent a century trying and failing to understand how that Sankta—who would spend five minutes rummaging through a sofa just because he had accidentally left his coat there, and loved scavenging valuables from war ruins—not only had not been beaten to death, but was somehow still alive and had even become Rhine Lab's security director.

Just listen to the nonsense he said.

"I never expected someone like you to understand Rhine Lab!"

Shield Dog Goes on a Rampage

Han Fei's shout echoed through the stairwell, sounding unbelievably arrogant, just short of openly declaring that everyone present was trash.

As his words fell, Han Fei saw numerous Lupo heads poke out from gaps in the stairs above, every one of them glaring at him viciously.

The Siracusans were just as straightforward in their response. Compared to words, they preferred answering Han Fei's provocation with crossbow bolts.

Before Han Fei could speak again, those Siracusans raised their hand crossbows and fired at him in a barrage.

Han Fei raised his great shield and climbed upward step by step through the Siracusans' arrows.

Their firepower was dense enough for hand crossbows, but against Deep Blue's heavy riot shield, it was utterly inadequate.

For a time, the entire stairwell was filled with clanging. Every bolt fired at Han Fei struck the riot shield and dropped helplessly to the floor.

"Come on, are you guys trying to tickle me?"

Han Fei almost laughed. These Siracusan gangsters had such terrible firepower that he could not even be bothered to shake his shield around to protect the viewing window.

This was a great shield that could withstand black eggs head-on. How could a few hand crossbows possibly punch through it?

Seeing Han Fei steadily closing in, the Siracusan underboss could no longer sit still. He ordered, "This is a little troublesome. Get the casters over here."

Not long afterward, several casters in light-blue suits and hoods hurried down from upstairs.

The underboss instructed them, "That guy's defenses are solid. You handle him. The young miss gave orders that no one is to disturb her. We absolutely cannot let him get upstairs. If the young miss gets angry, neither of us can bear the consequences."

"Yes."

The casters accepted their orders, rushed to the stair railing, leaned out, raised their hands, and began casting.

Han Fei was climbing the stairs when he suddenly saw several different-looking heads poke out. Before he could figure out who they were, several spell orbs came crashing down toward him.

"Huh? There are casters too."

Han Fei immediately dashed. A white blast erupted from his waist, launching him upward and letting him evade the spell orbs.

As a Shield Dog, Han Fei was confident in using his great shield to block bullets and crossbow bolts, but he was far less confident when it came to Originium Arts.

Whether the riot shield could block spells was still questionable, and Han Fei had no desire to test it at a time like this.

Seeing their first attack miss, the family casters raised their hands again and formed several more spell orbs, hurling them at Han Fei.

"You're not done yet?"

Han Fei raised an eyebrow. The spell orbs flew quickly. Because he had his shield up, he was already moving slowly, and his jetpack was still on cooldown. Faced with the casters' new offensive, he could only raise his shield and take the hits head-on.

The next second, the spell orbs passed straight through his great shield and struck the arms he had held in front of himself.

"Hiss."

The pain shooting through his arms made Han Fei bare his teeth.

"No good. The riot shield can't stop them."

Han Fei gritted his teeth, endured the pain, and pressed his right hand down to activate the drone.

"Drone, take off. Activate Shock!"

A powerful soundwave instantly pierced the entire building.

Crash!

Within the soundwave's range, every pane of glass shattered in an instant. The sounds of breaking glass rang out everywhere in the building.

At the same time, the Lupos who had come all the way from Siracusa fell to their knees, clutching their ears in agony.

The sonic shock emitted by the drone was nothing short of torture for these Lupos with their sharp hearing.

With the casters down on their knees, Han Fei was finally no longer threatened by their spells. He pulled out Bizon, intending to deal with those troublesome casters, only to discover that because they were kneeling on the ground, he had no angle to shoot them.

So he put Bizon away again and pulled out Old Black's grenade.

Since he still had a riot shield in one hand, Han Fei rather wildly bit off the pin, then tossed the grenade upstairs.

With a boom, the explosion was accompanied by screams, and Han Fei's dash, which had still been on cooldown, instantly refreshed.

That was Veyron's trait. Killing an operator refreshed the jetpack cooldown, while killing a regular enemy refreshed half of it.

"Like hitting people with balls? What a coincidence. So do I!"

Han Fei did not find throwing just one grenade satisfying enough, so he tossed the other one upstairs as well.

Two fragmentation grenades in succession blew the Siracusan thugs above into a complete mess.

These were Old Black's grenades. They were incredibly powerful—even unarmored GTI Superhumans could not take one. A single grenade could kill instantly!

After feeding them two grenades in a row, Han Fei's anger subsided considerably, and so did his contempt.

To be honest, he really had looked down on these Siracusan thugs at first.

There was no other reason. These gangsters' equipment was simply too poor.

Forget guns. Those were rare items across Terra, and these were only gangsters, not Lateran citizens. Naturally, it was impossible for everyone to have one.

Just looking at their protective gear showed how poorly equipped these Siracusans were.

Even Asara grunts knew to wear body armor and helmets. They might not have been good helmets or armor, but at least they offered some protection.

But these family thugs? Every one of them wore a suit. They wanted style, not survival.

Yet the casters' appearance forced Han Fei to abandon the idea of clearing the stage flawlessly as a Shield Dog.

The riot shield could block bullets, but it could not block spells.

Since there were enemies capable of threatening him, Han Fei naturally could not keep playing around with these Siracusans.

Before the drone's ultimate ended, Han Fei jetted up the stairs. Using the acceleration from the jetpack, he began charging upward at high speed.

As soon as he reached the next floor, he saw suited Lupo thugs kneeling all over the ground, clutching their ears in pain.

They were all potential problems. Han Fei could not just leave them alone.

His first instinct was to pull out his gun, but then he remembered that it was loaded with RIP rounds. RIP rounds were expensive, and he was not rich enough to spray them around freely.

He still had some white eggs on him, but white eggs were money too!

So he simply took out Shadow Edge and began harvesting them.

After knifing two thugs, Han Fei frowned.

"This is way too inefficient."

As a dagger, a folding knife did not have the ability to slaughter enemies on a grand scale.

With that in mind, Han Fei turned his gaze toward the great shield.

"Still gotta be you, buddy."

Han Fei took a deep breath. Having killed two thugs, his jetpack cooldown had finished.

The next second, he gripped the shield with both hands, drove power through his legs, and charged forward with the shield raised.

With his sprint combined with the jetpack, Han Fei was like a main battle tank. The Siracusan thugs in front of him were instantly sent flying, and nearly all of them went silent the moment they hit the ground.

What was even more terrifying was that as the family thugs died, his jetpack came off cooldown again!

Who Fights Without Wearing a Helmet?

In an instant, Han Fei was unstoppable, rampaging through the stairwell.

Even after the drone's ultimate ended and the Siracusan thugs recovered, they were powerless to stop him.

Every Siracusan who appeared in front of Han Fei met only one fate—being smashed away by his shield like an insect.

Even worse, the staircase was not wide. At most, it could barely fit three people abreast.

In such a narrow space, Han Fei did not even need to worry about direction. He just accelerated forward, activated his jetpack, and sent several people flying with every charge!

Han Fei did not stop until he reached the fourth floor.

Behind him, Siracusans lay twisted and scattered across the floor, utterly silent.

"Whew, that was exhausting."

Han Fei huddled behind his full-body shield and gulped down breaths.

A few steps away, several family thugs looked at one another, exchanging glances, but none dared step forward.

After watching Han Fei crash from the bottom floor all the way to the fourth, they had been thoroughly intimidated. Though these Siracusan thugs were called family soldiers, that was merely a title. It did not mean they possessed soldiers' iron wills.

Everyone who had stood in Han Fei's way was already dead. Under these circumstances, the fact that they had not turned around and fled already showed considerable loyalty to the family.

Han Fei could not be bothered with them. He waited. In another twenty seconds, his stamina would be fully restored. Then he would once again become a fully energized Shield Dog and begin another round of rampaging.

Just then, a particularly muscular family strongman in a white suit and red bow tie slowly descended from upstairs.

The man on the left removed the cigar from his mouth and said in a muffled voice, "You're the one who caused all that commotion just now, right?"

"That's right."

Han Fei readily admitted it and asked, "And who are you supposed to be?"

"I am the family's mighty... Intimidator. Kid, you're dying here today."

As he spoke, Intimidator tossed aside his cigar, shoved away several family soldiers blocking his path, and strode forward to attack Han Fei.

Han Fei immediately pulled out Bizon and unleashed a stream of RIP rounds, every bullet striking Intimidator squarely in the head.

The next second, Intimidator's huge, muscular body collapsed with a crash, slamming heavily onto the floor as blood streamed from his head.

"Idiot."

Han Fei curled his lip in disdain. "You think you're still in Siracusa? Big guy, this is Columbia. Who's going to play fistfights with you?"

It was no wonder Han Fei had looked down on these Siracusans earlier. With a thug that strong, if he had worn a helmet and protective gear, the RIP rounds in Han Fei's gun would have had no choice but to aim for his feet.

But instead, he insisted on style over protection. He wore a suit and did not even wear a helmet.

Did he really think his flesh was tougher than body armor?

A RIP round to the head had taught him otherwise!

Han Fei raised Bizon at the remaining family soldiers and said, "I remember Siracusa has a rule called Guns and Order, right?

"See this gun in my hand? In this building, I am the order."

The family soldiers exchanged glances, then decisively threw their daggers onto the floor and dropped to their knees in surrender.

Han Fei waved Bizon at them. "Get downstairs. Texas' people are outside. Go surrender to them obediently, and I'll save some money on bullets."

The family soldiers hurriedly scrambled down the stairs.

With no one left to stop him, Han Fei swiftly reached the top floor, the sixth floor. He walked straight out of the stairwell and saw eight men in white suits guarding a room at the end of the corridor to the right.
