"To wipe out the Texas Family, Lady Sicilian sent far more assassins than you can imagine."
Texas finally spoke. Her voice sounded somewhat cool and detached, without much emotional fluctuation, as though she were talking about something that had nothing to do with her.
Even though she, too, was a Texas.
Han Fei said nothing. Your dad really knew how to stir up trouble. Either he did nothing at all, or he made a spectacular mess.
He'd started by doing something as vicious as patricide, then openly provoked Lady Sicilian and scorned Siracusa's order, as if he were afraid he'd live too long.
Most people couldn't pull off something that ruthless!
Han Fei's silence made Cellinia misunderstand. Thinking he had been frightened by the people below, she tried to pull her hand from his and said, "You don't have to worry about me. Find a way to leave on your own."
But Han Fei not only refused to let go, he tightened his grip instead.
Cellinia was somewhat puzzled. Looking up, she could not make out Han Fei's face. Through the visor of the Closed Helmet, she could only see a pair of resolute eyes.
"I said I'd take you back. How could I give up halfway?"
The next second, Han Fei looked away and turned his gaze back downward. "Want to come up and catch me? Not a chance."
"Magnetic bomb, out!"
A C4 charge stuck precisely to the staircase leading to the fifth floor.
BOOM—!!!
The blazing fire of the explosion opened its bloody maw like a giant beast, instantly devouring the entire stairwell landing. The searing shockwave tore the concrete steps into countless sharp fragments, while burning rebar shot outward like spears.
"Watch above!"
The Lupo thugs below had barely raised their heads before falling bricks pelted them like rain, smashing them bloody.
When the smoke cleared, the staircase that had once connected the fourth and fifth floors had vanished completely, leaving behind only a savage break. Jagged rebar protruded from the fractured edge like a beast's fangs, and wisps of blue smoke still rose from the charred concrete.
Texas looked at the miserable scene below without changing her expression, but her curiosity about Han Fei only grew stronger.
That kind of firepower was nothing like what a family thug should have. And that equipment of his—how did he look anything like a gangster? People would believe he was an elite soldier in Columbia's regular army.
Could Columbia's military have gotten involved too?
At that thought, Texas shook her head slightly.
The possibility was simply too low.
The Texas Family might have some standing in Columbia, but it was nowhere near enough to make the military step in and protect them.
This was not Cellinia belittling her family out of hatred. It was simply an objective assessment.
At the end of the day, the Texas Family was only a gang. Columbia's military had no reason to oppose all of Siracusa for it.
Han Fei had no idea that the girl beside him had become curious about him. Satisfied with the destruction caused by the C4, he said, "That should keep them from getting up here for a while. Let's go first, then figure out another way to get out."
This was Veyron's C4, the kind of heavy explosive that could be used against vehicles on a battlefield. Even main battle tanks would not dare take two C4 charges head-on. Using it on a flight of stairs was complete overkill.
"Okay."
Cellinia answered flatly and let Han Fei pull her away from the stairwell.
Back in the corridor, Han Fei instinctively glanced toward the elevator. The display a few steps away was changing, and it had already reached four.
Han Fei casually stuck one of Old Black's little buns beside the elevator doors, then pulled Cellinia into the nearest room.
Han Fei shut the door behind them, released Cellinia, and said, "Just stand behind me."
Cellinia did not understand what Han Fei was planning, but she still stood behind him.
Han Fei tossed a C4 charge toward a spot not far ahead. "Cover your ears."
Cellinia obediently did as she was told, raising her hands to cover her human ears, though she could do nothing about the pair of fluffy animal ears atop her head.
The next second, the explosion rang out.
The violent blast made Cellinia instinctively shrink her neck, making her look rather cute.
Unfortunately, Han Fei was holding up his shield against the residual shockwave, so he failed to notice Texas's adorable, startled expression behind him.
Only after the explosion had fully subsided did Han Fei turn around and say, "Come with me."
Unfortunately, Texas had already composed herself. Her startled look from moments ago had disappeared without a trace.
The two walked to the large hole blasted open by the C4. Han Fei did not immediately jump down. He looked around first, and only after confirming there was no one in the room below did he leap down and look up. "Come down."
Texas jumped down and looked around. "Is this your plan?"
"That's right."
Han Fei nodded. "This is the only way out now. We can't take the elevator, and the stairs are full of their people."
Veyron did have a fall-damage reduction ability, but that only applied from relatively low heights.
Jumping straight down from the fifth or sixth floor was too much even for GTI Superhumans. One jump, and they would never make a sound again.
Why would they not make a sound? Because they would be dead.
Texas nodded slightly, acknowledging Han Fei's reasoning. "True enough. Then continue."
"I can't continue."
Han Fei spread his hands. "It's on cooldown."
"Huh?"
Texas froze. What did he mean, on cooldown?
"Don't worry. Wait another thirty seconds." Han Fei reassured her. "In thirty seconds, I'll have another magnetic bomb."
Veyron's magnetic bomb had a fairly long cooldown, nearly a minute. Half a minute had passed since Han Fei threw the first one, so he still had to wait another half minute before getting another C4 charge.
As for Old Black's throwables, they did not have the same explosive power as Veyron's C4.
After all, Old Black's grenade was an enhanced fragmentation grenade, not a magnetic bomb.
Texas's expression became somewhat strange. She understood this person less and less.
He was clearly fully armed, so what did it mean that he had to wait thirty seconds for a bomb?
Could someone air-drop a few bombs to him here or something?
Texas sighed. At first, she had thought this person seemed quite reliable. All that heavy gear gave her a strong sense of security.
But now, it seemed that had been an illusion.
At that thought, Texas suddenly realized something—I don't seem to know his name yet.
So Texas asked, "By the way, I still don't know your name."
Han Fei said, "Han Fei. Just call me Han Fei."

Title: <In Arknights, I Can Grow Stronger After Death, So I Face Death Without Fear>
[Orange]
After transmigrating into Arknights, Philotia began her struggle for survival.
What? You're saying my cheat is that I grow stronger whenever I'm killed?
As long as she died in front of a special character and stirred their emotions, she would gain stronger skills and power after reviving. Feeling the daily life of blades and gunfire around her, Philotia said, "Isn't that easy?"
Thus—
"I want you to kill me a thousand times, and it still won't be enough!"
Standing before Lappland and facing Siracusa's assassins, Philotia roared.
"If your plan has to kill someone, then why can't it be the me who has no ideals?"
She stood in front of Texas and questioned them.
"If gods truly cannot be defeated, then step over my corpse first!"
Facing the Wolf Lord known as a god, Philotia remained completely fearless.
But gradually, things seemed to start going wrong.
Lappland: "Are you trying to make me behave through this method, or do you also think the game needs more excitement? ...I can't figure you out. No wonder I love the trust you place in me!"
Texas: "I once wanted to run away, but this time, I want to protect you more."
Penance: "How much violence hides behind the name of order? I am willing to spend the rest of my life protecting you."
Hiding in My Arms
"Han Fei, are you from Yan?"
Texas tried to see Han Fei's face through the visor, but Asara's D6 Closed Helmet was truly well-sealed. Texas could only vaguely make out a pair of eyes through it.
"Yeah, that's right."
Han Fei did not want to explain too much. It was too troublesome. Better to keep wearing the disguise of being from Yan.
Texas fell silent. She had never been much of a talker, and the family's affairs had already left her troubled and exhausted.
Han Fei's appearance had indeed piqued her curiosity, but the girl did not want to drag him into a barrage of questions at a time like this.
The silence did not last long. Before long, Han Fei suddenly moved. "Alright, the cooldown's done."
Texas watched as Han Fei, as though performing a magic trick, pulled a magnetic bomb from his waist and flung it out.
The C4 stuck precisely to the floor, then blasted a huge hole through it amid a thunderous boom.
"Come with me."
Han Fei walked to the hole and glanced down. After confirming there was no one below, he jumped down.
Texas followed closely behind, jumping down with Han Fei.
Two C4 charges had moved them from the sixth floor to the fourth, but this method clearly had a drawback.
Texas had already realized it and said, "Isn't this a little too loud?"
Han Fei said, "It is, but it's reliable."
"Reliable?"
Texas looked worriedly toward the door.
The C4 explosions were far too loud. Unless those Siracusan thugs were all deaf, there was no way they would fail to notice something strange here.
Sometimes, what you feared was exactly what happened.
Before Texas could voice her concern, a commotion came from the room upstairs.
Then several Lupo heads poked through the hole blasted open by the C4.
"They're here!"
Several thugs immediately jumped down from above, glaring viciously at Han Fei and Texas.
Texas gripped the sword at her waist and was about to attack when gunfire erupted beside her.
The Bizon spat flames, its bullets precisely punching through the thugs' heads.
"That's a gun?!"
Texas stared at Han Fei in astonishment.
When she had been fighting Lappland earlier, she had heard the sounds of gunfire. But the situation had been too urgent to spare any attention for it, so she had not given it much thought.
But now, seeing Han Fei skillfully use a gun to blow the heads off Siracusan assassins, Texas instinctively connected him to the gunfire she had heard during the earlier fight.
So he had been the one firing those shots back then. But why could a Yan man use a gun so skillfully?
Texas could not understand it.
As a Siracusan, Texas was not unfamiliar with guns, because the actual ruler of Siracusa, Lady Sicilian, was most famous for the "Guns and Order" she had brought back from Laterano.
A gun was essentially a staff. It required the auxiliary calculations of a halo in order to fire freely.
And Han Fei clearly had no halo above his head.
Thinking of this, Texas could not help examining the gun in Han Fei's hand.
Then the questions in her heart only multiplied.
As far as Texas knew, there was a security company in Columbia called Blacksteel International. Based on other races, Blacksteel's owner had developed a universal imitation gun, but those guns were very small and their power had been severely reduced.
