There were no doors or windows.

Antique dark-red tables and chairs stood in the middle, along with a glazed lamp.

The lamplight was dim and yellow.

Liangqiu Xu sat on the floor without rushing to get up. Frowning, he vigorously rubbed his temples, which throbbed as if pricked by needles.

Memories surged forth, scene after scene gradually becoming clear. Liangqiu Xu made a simple summary:

—Escaping for his life, jumping into a deep pool, and losing consciousness.

—Regaining consciousness in an unfamiliar place.

Countless questions sprang into Liangqiu Xu's mind in an instant. He braced himself with both hands and stood up.

The floor was made of polished stone. It was not cold to the touch, but instead carried the warm, smooth feel of jade.
