Amick's group had gathered in a high-rise building.
The first floor held the remaining seven or eight lackeys. They knew nothing about the organization's situation and were currently thrilled at having been summoned by the boss, convinced they were about to be put to important use.
Little did they know, their role was that of human alarm systems, destined to be sacrificed in the first exchange.
The top floor was where Amick's core group was located, and only a private elevator could reach it directly.
"Boss, should we just blow up the elevator?" a fat man suggested.
"If we blow it up, how are we supposed to get down later? What if the enemy doesn't come today, or doesn't come anytime soon?" Amick shot him a glare. "Besides, if the elevator is still there, won't we be able to predict those bastards' route of entry? Idiot!"
"As expected of the boss." His subordinate hurriedly kissed up to him.
In truth, the latter reason was the bigger one. One reason Amick had become the leader of the group was Kingpin's tacit approval, but Amick himself was no fool. He had long since planted remote-controlled explosives in the elevator. He could blow it up whenever he wanted, so why blow it up now? He had also arranged for a helicopter on the roof, not only to deal with the problem of the elevator being destroyed, but also to escape if they lost.
However, Amick had not told his subordinates any of this. If the head of a drug-dealing organization trusted people too easily and exposed all his trump cards, he would not have lived this long.
There was another reason he could not bring himself to mention. After Big Daddy and Mindy's tireless robbing of the rich to help the poor, Amick's
