Friendly Sparring

The next day.

Sasuke arrived at the Hyuga residence to pick Hinata up for school.

Hiashi Hyuga waved at Sasuke and said, "You two little ones, don't run too fast on the way."

Sasuke said to Hiashi Hyuga, "Senior Hyuga, my eyes are a little itchy. What's going on?"

Hiashi Hyuga froze. Eyes were the most important thing to the Uchiha; they absolutely couldn't be damaged. He said, "Come, let me take a look~"

Three tomoe appeared in Sasuke's eyes, then transformed into the Mangekyo Sharingan.

Hiashi Hyuga's gaze sharpened, then he burst out laughing. "Hahahaha, Sasuke, you really are a genius! You awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan at such a young age. You opened your eyes even earlier than your brother did!"

Hiashi Hyuga's eyes were filled with delight.

If Sasuke had no connection to the Hyuga clan, then he would have been a major threat to Hiashi Hyuga. But now Sasuke and the Hyuga clan were joined by marriage.

Sasuke's strength represented the Hyuga clan's strength.

Hiashi Hyuga patted Sasuke on the shoulder and smiled approvingly.

When they arrived at the entrance to the Ninja Academy, Sasuke held Hinata's little hand and suddenly spotted Rock Lee.

Sasuke asked, "Lee, you joined the Ninja Academy?"

Rock Lee said excitedly, "Yes, Sasuke-kun! It's all thanks to Guy-sensei. Guy-sensei accepted me as his disciple, and I'm in the second-year division now!"

Sasuke nodded. That made sense, since Lee had originally been a grade above him.

When he entered the classroom, Sasuke accidentally bumped into a girl. She was very pretty, with pink hair like cherry blossoms.

Sasuke said, "Sorry, Sakura."

The moment Sakura heard Sasuke speak, her face turned red. She liked Sasuke very much, but because of their statuses, she had never dared to express it.

Sakura's parents were ordinary people, not even ninja, while Sasuke's father was the renowned head of the Uchiha clan.

Hinata's father was the head of the Hyuga clan.

The two were well matched in status, a couple made in heaven.

So although Sakura liked Sasuke too, she did not dare to say it.

She kept thinking, Sasuke-kun! So handsome! So handsome! So handsome!

After class began, Iruka rushed into the classroom.

He shouted happily to everyone, "Next week, we'll have a sparring match with the second-year students. I'll now choose a few people to represent the first-year division. Does anyone want to volunteer?"

Iruka said, "Sasuke is one. We need two more. Who else wants to participate? If no one volunteers, we'll draw lots!"

Seeing Sasuke participate, Naruto raised his hand as well. "Teacher, I want to represent the first-year division too!"

Iruka glanced at Naruto and asked, "Are you sure?"

Naruto nodded. "I'm sure!"

Iruka sighed. "All right. The second candidate is Naruto."

"Who will be the third?"

No one stepped forward. Hinata had wanted to participate with Sasuke, but Sasuke was afraid she would get hurt, so he did not let her raise her hand.

Since no one volunteered, they used a lottery.

The chosen student was: Haruno Sakura!

The first-year division's representatives were: Uchiha Sasuke, Uzumaki Naruto, and Haruno Sakura.

The second-year division's representatives were: Hyuga Neji, Rock Lee, and Tenten.
