Background / History

Rhodes Island’s predecessor was Babel, a Kazdel military organization founded by Theresa, the former Sarkaz King of Fiends. After Babel collapsed, some of its personnel continued on with Rhodes Island while most others disappeared 106.

Although publicly presented as a medical company, Rhodes Island’s internal purpose includes researching and processing Originium. Its medical work and aid for the Infected remain its public-facing mission 165. The organization seeks to treat Oripathy and resolve disputes surrounding the Infected without favoring regional governments or individual powers 122.

Rhodes Island accepts Infected people, those rejected elsewhere, and other idealistic specialists without judging them by qualifications 91.

Chernobog Rescue Operation

Rhodes Island deployed several combat squads and elite Operators into Chernobog to rescue the Doctor. Amiya and Instructor Dobermann led the central-district team, while Scout’s reconnaissance unit identified a route through the devastated city 69.

The Second Squad of Rainbow Six initially shadowed Rhodes Island’s Operators, resulting in an armed standoff between Ash’s team and Amiya’s group. The confrontation ended when Ash identified her squad as protection sent by Zhuang Xiaolin 74. Both forces subsequently fought in a combined formation against Reunion Movement attackers, entered an underground facility, and extracted the Doctor alongside a classified item 75.

Evacuation and Return to the Landship

After the Chernobog operation, Rhodes Island evacuated Zhuang Xiaolin’s group and captured Reunion personnel with medical transports and fighter escorts 83. The returning party landed on Rhodes Island’s mobile landship, which became the base for subsequent negotiations, reorganization efforts, and joint activity 84 95.

Storm Defense Committee Partnership

Zhuang Xiaolin approached Rhodes Island with an Oripathy treatment drug and sought a stake in the organization. Kal'tsit initially agreed to test the medicine before validating any agreement 85.

The finalized cooperation established that Rhodes Island could request Storm Defense Committee protection, while paying for personnel deployments and equipment losses. In exchange, Rhodes Island would disclose hidden threats known to it 91. Zhuang Xiaolin is later identified as holding 30% of Rhodes Island’s shares 98.

Siracusa Medical Support

Rhodes Island contributed a two-person medical team—Gavial and Warfarin—to the Storm Assault Troop. The organization framed its involvement as humanitarian support rather than direct participation in the conflict 147.

Rhodes Island also supplied two low-altitude aircraft to transport the Storm Assault Team to the front line 149.

Columbia and Rhine Lab Incident

Kal'tsit provided Zhuang Xiaolin with an invitation to Rhine Lab under a false identity, allowing him to investigate events in Columbia 154. Rhodes Island personnel, including the Doctor, Kal'tsit, Rosmontis, and later Saria’s associates, became involved in the crisis surrounding Rhine Lab and Kristen’s plan to pierce the false sky 156 160 162.
