Background / History

Ling Yue was a war orphan in the Naruto world before transmigrating into a gloomy forest. A giant wolf's attack triggered the activation of the Myriad Worlds Skill Lottery System, which gave her access to skills and items from other worlds. Her first draw, [Zetsu], allowed her to escape the wolf and survive. 1

While returning to the Hidden Leaf Village, Ling Yue encountered Naruto Uzumaki being bullied by local children. She frightened them off with a fabricated claim that ANBU were nearby, then accepted Naruto's offer of friendship after rejecting the village's “demon fox” label for him. 2

The system assigned Ling Yue the task of becoming a Hidden Leaf genin. She struggled with the Clone Technique, but used Zetsu to refine her chakra control, passed the graduation test, and was placed on the unusually expanded Team Seven alongside Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke. 3 4
