Tsunade did not even spare him a glance. She walked straight to Sosuke's bed, and when she saw his body covered in injuries and his weak breathing, anger and heartache twisted together in her chest. Her eyes immediately reddened.

"Sosuke! How are you?"

She stretched out a hand. A soft green glow lit up in her palm as she began treating him.

"Tsunade... sis..."

Sosuke opened his eyes at just the right moment and called weakly.

He knew Tsunade's anger alone was not enough.

He had to give her a reason she could not refuse, a reason to protect him at all costs.

As she continued treating him, Tsunade turned and glared furiously at Danzō.

"Danzō! The Senju Clan shed its last drop of blood for the Hidden Leaf! Now Sosuke is our only remaining heir, and you still want to harm him! Is your heart made of stone?"

Danzō snorted coldly and heavily struck the ground with his cane.

"I am enforcing military law! The entire squad he was in was wiped out, yet he alone survived. That alone makes him highly suspicious! Taking him back to Root for interrogation is perfectly justified!"

"Interrogation?" Tsunade laughed in fury. "Does anyone who enters your Root ever come out alive? You want to dissect him, don't you, you old bastard!"

Their argument drew the attention of countless ninjas outside the tent.

Danzō's expression grew increasingly ugly.

"Sosuke!" Tsunade cried out in alarm and hurriedly increased her chakra output.

But Sosuke grabbed her hand and laboriously raised his other palm.

He looked at Tsunade, his eyes holding a trace of confusion and excitement.

Under everyone's astonished gazes, an emerald glow lit up in Sosuke's bloodstained palm.
