Catching Aron

"This is the place."

Following behind Steven Stone, Gary and Rosa soon arrived at the part of Rusturf Tunnel where the Aron colony lived.

Following Steven Stone's gaze, Gary and Rosa quickly spotted dozens of Aron resting in their habitat, along with several Lairon and a sturdy Aggron.

Without a doubt, this Aggron was the leader of the Aron colony, and it possessed the strength of an Elite Four Candidate.

Gary, Steven Stone, and the others had made no effort to conceal their arrival, so the Aron colony quickly discovered them.

The Aggron, along with the Lairon and Aron, also noticed Gary, Rosa, and Steven Stone.

However, upon seeing Steven Stone at the front, the vigilance in the eyes of the Aggron, Lairon, and Aron vanished.

Then, at the Aggron's call, the Aron all gathered around Steven Stone.

The Aggron let out a cry at Steven Stone while staring intently at a Poké Ball in his hand.

Naturally, Steven Stone understood the meaning behind the Aggron leader's cry. He immediately opened his Poké Ball and released the Aggron he had used in his earlier battle against Gary.

After Steven Stone's Aggron appeared, it immediately went over to the Aggron leader. The two Pokémon nestled close together, just like Gary and Rosa had before.

Without Steven Stone needing to explain, Gary and Rosa understood that the two Aggron were undoubtedly a mated pair.

Steven Stone's Aggron was male, while the leader here was female.

Steven Stone then explained the situation.

Back when Steven Stone had been excavating stones in Rusturf Tunnel, he had discovered the Aron colony living here, as well as the two Aggron.

After witnessing Steven Stone's strength, the male Aggron, wanting to become stronger, had chosen to follow him. The female remained behind to protect her colony.

After Steven Stone finished explaining everything to Gary and Rosa, his Aggron, having finished its reunion with its wife, told her that Gary and Rosa wanted to catch an Aron.

After pondering for some time, the Aggron leader gave a clear answer.

Gary and Rosa could catch an Aron, but they first had to earn the Aron's recognition. Otherwise, they could not.

After learning of the condition from Steven Stone's Aggron, Gary and Rosa readily agreed.

It would be best if they could catch an Aron they wanted, but if they could not, they would lose nothing.

Seeing that both Gary and Rosa had agreed, the Aggron leader let out a roar, asking which Aron wished to leave and travel with a Trainer.

At the Aggron leader's call, more than ten Aron soon stepped forward. They were all little ones eager for the outside world and greater strength.

"All right. If you want to catch an Aron, choose one from among them."

After seeing the dozen or so Aron step out, Steven Stone turned his gaze toward Gary and Rosa.

"Okay."

After agreeing, Gary and Rosa looked over the dozen Aron, hoping to pick one with particularly outstanding potential.

Gary immediately opened his system and began scanning the attributes of the dozen Aron before him.

After the system's screening, he discovered that two of them had Champion-level potential, while the rest were basically below that level.

Of the two Aron with Champion-level potential, one was male and one was female, and they were also at the same level.

Gary, meanwhile, walked past Rosa to the male Aron and crouched down before it.

"Aron, are you willing to leave with me?"

Crouching in front of Aron, Gary extended his invitation.

Gary understood its meaning. If he wanted to catch it, he first had to defeat it.

Facing Aron's challenge, Gary decisively sent out a Pupitar of the same level. Under Gary's command, Pupitar easily defeated Aron and earned its recognition.

Just like that, Gary's team gained another general with limitless potential.

After Gary caught the male Aron, Rosa also defeated the female Aron with her outstanding strength and caught it as well.

When Gary looked over, Rosa was just taking out a Poké Ball to catch the female Aron.

Thus, under Steven Stone's guidance, both Gary and Rosa successfully caught an Aron they wanted.

After catching them, Gary and Rosa did not forget to thank Steven Stone.

Since Gary already had six Pokémon on him, and Blastoise was also injured, Gary sent Blastoise back to Oak Pokémon Research Lab.

"There's no need to thank me. Just take good care of these two children," Steven Stone said, shaking his head at their thanks.

"We will."

Gary and Rosa answered in unison. Their resolute tone left Steven Stone quite satisfied.

After Gary and Rosa caught their Aron, they did not rush to leave. Instead, they spent the last stretch of time with the two Aron and their families.

Of course, Gary and Rosa did not waste their time either. Staying with Steven Stone, they asked him for advice on training Aron and Metagross. After all, Steven Stone was a top expert in this field.

Steven Stone did not hold anything back in response to their questions, directly sharing methods and tips for training Metagross and Aron with them.

Over the course of that day, Gary and Rosa gained immensely.
