Function and Properties

Poké Balls are everyday necessities for catching Pokémon. Ordinary families can purchase even Luxury Balls, though standard varieties have limits against exceptionally powerful Pokémon. 4

Capture Limitations

Ordinary Poké Balls can capture ordinary Pokémon and pseudo-Legendary Pokémon, but cannot contain Legendary Pokémon that wield the world's authority. Such Pokémon can shatter an ordinary Poké Ball even if they acknowledge a Trainer and willingly follow them. 4

Master Ball

Master Balls are rare devices made from numerous precious materials and technology. Unlike ordinary Poké Balls, they can contain Legendary Pokémon. 4

Beast Ball

Beast Balls are special Poké Balls developed by Aether Paradise specifically to catch Ultra Beasts. 542

• Like a Master Ball, a Beast Ball does not count toward the number of Poké Balls Gary can carry. 542

• Professor Oak's gift — Professor Oak gives Gary a Poké Ball containing Larvitar before Gary departs on his journey. 18
