As a Radiation Element outbreak weakened Root and the clans, Yū maneuvered around Danzo and the Uchiha factions, then received the Grand Elder’s Sharingan after Uchiha Zhu died.

• Uchiha Yū passed Ryūchi Cave’s trials and endured the White Snake Sage’s venom to master Snake Sage Art, while Jiraiya departed to investigate a prophecy about the shinobi world’s destruction.
• Uchiha Yū recruited Yakushi Nonō as an agent against Danzo and ordered her to poison Danzo’s workplace in exchange for funding the orphanage.

• Uchiha Yū recruited Sasori with corpses, puppet materials, and support for his research, then used the Land of Wind Weapons Shop to expand Dawn’s influence in Sunagakure.

• Uchiha Yū and Hatake Sakumo escaped Kumogakure with their team, but Ito Yuna lost her leg, and the Third Hokage’s faction used the mission scandal to weaken Sakumo’s standing.
