Naruto and Iwagakure’s finalists humiliated Konoha in the exams, while Naruto’s identity as Minato’s son exposed Hiruzen’s failures and destroyed his public standing. Danzō’s attempted massacre failed, and Yoru began revealing the village’s hidden history to the crowd.

• Naruto rescued Shikamaru, Ino, and Chōji from an armored bear, then defeated Gaara and helped him accept the possibility of finding a family and village.
• Orochimaru delivered the complete Impure World Reincarnation scroll to Yoru, while Iwagakure’s contestants swept the preliminaries and eliminated every Konoha entrant.
• Sasuke defeated Neji and revealed that Hizashi Hyuga had survived, while Hinata defeated Kin Tsuchi and Lee lost to Deidara.
• Naruto defeated Gaara in the finals and used the Flying Thunder God Technique, prompting the crowd to recognize him as Minato’s son and accuse Hiruzen of mistreating him.
• The Land of Fire Daimyo cut Konoha’s military budget, and Danzō activated the Purification Protocol to destroy the arena and its occupants.
• Deidara stopped the explosive tags, and Orochimaru exposed Hiruzen and Danzō’s plan before confronting Hiruzen inside the Four Violet Flames Formation.
• Hiruzen’s Reaper Death Seal failed against Yoru, whose Perfect Susanoo shattered the Death God’s phantom and left Hiruzen gravely wounded.

Yoru exposed Konoha’s leaders, watched the village collapse, and drew Minato, Kakashi, and other defectors to Stone Village. As Yoru strengthened Stone Village and disrupted the Akatsuki’s plans, he intervened in Pain’s attack on Jiraiya and began fighting the Six Paths.

• Itachi showed the crowd visions of Sakumo’s death and the planned Uchiha massacre, and Yoru denounced Hiruzen and the Will of Fire.
• The crowd beat Danzō to death, and the Daimyō sentenced Hiruzen to permanent imprisonment.
• Yoru declared Konoha had to be destroyed, while Minato rejected the village and joined Stone Village with Kushina.
• Kakashi, Asuma, Might Guy, and hundreds of others followed Yoru’s train, and Yoru later agreed to shelter the Hyuga Clan.
• Tsunade returned to Konoha and discovered its massive deficit and failing supply lines, while the Akatsuki began targeting tailed beasts.
• Yoru rescued Utakata, captured Hidan for Orochimaru’s experiments, and helped Stone Village develop chakra-powered weapons.

Yoru captured Amegakure, dismantled Obito’s forces, and brought Kumogakure under Iwagakure’s control. With Black Zetsu escaping with the Rinnegan and Madara still looming, Yoru prepared a summit to impose a new order on the ninja world.

• Yoru exposed the truth behind Nagato’s suffering, forced him to revive his victims before dying, and secured Konan’s cooperation and Amegakure’s submission to Iwagakure.
• Obito learned that Sasuke knew his secrets and that the Akatsuki had been dismantled, then launched a White Zetsu assault on Kumogakure to capture Killer B and the Eight-Tails.
• Yoru and Ōnoki sent Iwagakure’s mechanized forces to rescue Kumogakure, using scientific weapons and space-time interference to devastate Obito’s army and counter his Kamui.
• Yoru destroyed the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and defeated Obito, then revealed that Madara had manipulated Obito and orchestrated Rin’s death.
• Black Zetsu took control of Obito and forced him to perform the resurrection technique, but the ritual was interrupted and the statue collapsed as Black Zetsu escaped with the Rinnegan.
• The Fourth Raikage pledged Kumogakure’s mines and ports to Iwagakure, and Yoru ordered Ōnoki to prepare a Four Kage Summit.
• Ōnoki sent invitations demanding the villages attend a conference to redraw territories and redistribute resources, while A, Mei Terumi, and Rasa prepared to attend despite their objections or weakness.

Yoru forced the other nations under Iwagakure’s control, then used Naruto and Sasuke to defeat the revived Madara. Madara became the Ten-Tails Jinchūriki, and Yoru prepared to face his new power with God's Destruction Essence.

• Tsunade learned that Konoha had been excluded from the Four Kage Summit, while Yoru imposed resource and military agreements on the other Kage by displaying Iwagakure’s overwhelming force.
• Kabuto challenged Yoru with reanimated Kage, but Orochimaru disabled Kabuto’s control, and Yoru seized Kabuto’s research and prepared Naruto and Sasuke for experimental transformations.
• Yoru rejected the title of Tsuchikage, declared himself the Shinobi World’s uncrowned king, and forced the Land of Fire Daimyo to abolish the daimyo system.
• Black Zetsu revived Madara and brought him to Yoru, where Naruto and Sasuke repeatedly overwhelmed him with their newly strengthened abilities.
• Yoru defeated Madara’s attacks, announced his death after vaporizing him, then ordered Naruto and Sasuke to take Madara and his soul fragments to Orochimaru.
• Madara used Limbo and tried to draw chakra from the Demonic Statue, but Yoru wounded him and ordered Kakuzu to fire explosive shells as Orochimaru prepared to experiment on him.
