After laughing, Feng finally turned his attention to Uchiha Izumi, Sasuke, Gaara, and the others.
"Ayaka, take the Uzumaki and the Sealing Squad and extract the One-Tail from Gaara.
"But don't extract all of it. Find a way to leave a small portion inside him, then seal the rest in this Sealing Altar."
As he spoke, though, he turned toward Uzumaki Ayaka.
He took out a sealing scroll and pulled from it the Sealing Altar he had acquired from Sunagakure long ago, the one they had always used to seal the One-Tail temporarily.
"Yes, Master!"
Ayaka accepted without question.
Gaara frowned tightly at Feng's words. After a moment of silence, he nodded. "All right."
He did not ask why, or whether having the Tailed Beast extracted would kill him as a Jinchūriki.
In the three years he had spent at Feng's side, he had been treated like a person for what felt like the only time in his life. He was willing to trust Feng, even if it meant betting his life.
"Hey, Feng. Are you really giving that Shukaku to Black Zetsu?"
Inside Feng, the Nine-Tails, who had never gotten along with Shukaku, could not resist asking from the Sealing Space.
"Yes. I have something on the Moon Base that I must take care of.
"Handing the One-Tail over will keep Black Zetsu busy, and Akatsuki too, long enough for me to focus on it.
"Heh. It won't take long. Once I'm done, whether it's the One-Tail or you, I can finally start making good on my promise to let you Tailed Beasts live freely."
The corner of Feng's mouth lifted as he answered the Nine-Tails in his mind.
"In that case, hahaha! Hurry up and send Shukaku to Black Zetsu."
The Nine-Tails' eyes lit up, and it laughed
