Background / History

Yukina served alongside Takeno Sota and Uchiha Lieyang on an A-rank infiltration mission. Observing Lieyang's repeated distraction, she judged him unfit for the operation and recommended aborting the mission for an investigation; Sota instead ordered the squad to proceed. 1

When Lieyang's shadow clone deliberately exposed itself and ignited the forest, Yukina immediately concluded that he had revealed his position intentionally. She urged Sota to abandon the infiltration and prioritize capturing Lieyang, citing the danger of a three-tomoe Uchiha escaping with Konoha intelligence. 1 2

After identifying the decoy as a shadow clone, Yukina used her insects to determine that Lieyang's original body had never entered the mission area and had fled southwest. During the pursuit, her Parasitic Destruction Bugs drained Lieyang's chakra while her Insect Clones created openings for her attacks; together with Sota, she forced him into a lethal stone-spike trap. 2

Lieyang awakened the first stage of his Gene Lock at the moment of near-death, then beheaded Sota before Yukina could react. Yukina withdrew her swarm into a defensive formation and attacked again, but Lieyang cut every bug from his own body with extreme precision before slitting her throat. 3 4

Her disappearance was later investigated alongside Sota's and Lieyang's after the mission site was destroyed by a forest fire.
