Xuanhui apologized for a long time before Tsunade finally forgave him.
Still, this was his fault too.
Although Nawaki had asked him not to tell Tsunade about the experiment, he had never expected Xuanhui to forget to tell her he was heading back, too.
As a result, he had nearly been unable to return.
But while he was stuck waiting in the library for Tsunade to summon the wooden door,
he had finally perfected the idea in his head!
Xuanhui returned to his tent and pulled the entrance flap tightly shut.
He cupped both hands as though holding a basketball between them.
Specks of light gathered in the air, gradually forming a sphere.
"I'm still not very good at this. I'll need more practice..."
Through his efforts, however, the platinum-white ball of light condensed into gold, and its turbulent fluctuations settled into a stable, solid form.
He tried reshaping the ball of light into a rod.
The ball slowly flowed and shifted, becoming a long, slender rod.
Holding the rod of light, he lightly dragged it across the dirt.
A groove melted straight into the ground. It seemed contact with its solid surface produced the same effect as being hit by ordinary Light Release!
But this solid form conserved more chakra and made more efficient use of it!
At long range, light behaved as a wave; in close combat, it behaved as particles.
Science really did change lives!
The next day, before the two of them left, Hiruzen Sarutobi reminded them over and over.
They had to stay safe! No pushing themselves recklessly!
Naturally, Xuanhui and Tsunade agreed.
They waved goodbye and stepped through the wooden door.
A few minutes later, Tsunade opened the wooden door from the other side, and Nawaki immediately rushed up to hug his sister.
