After confirming there was no danger nearby, Ren left.
The students were on break, but that did not mean he could skip work.
However, he had not gone far in the direction of the Konoha Military Police Force when he sensed someone following him.
When he turned around, he found Itachi Uchiha.
"Is there something you need from me, Itachi?"
Ren asked with a smile.
Itachi still wore that expressionless face. After giving a slight nod, he said, "Clan Head, I wish to join the Konoha Military Police Force."
Ren did not know what Itachi's purpose was in joining the Konoha Military Police Force, but he knew it definitely had something to do with Hiruzen Sarutobi.
Not long ago, Itachi had still been hunting spies all over Konoha.
After thinking briefly, Ren said, "Itachi, aren't you still in the Anbu? Has the Third Hokage approved this?"
"Clan Head, I have already left the Anbu."
Itachi answered calmly.
That confirmed it. This was definitely Hiruzen Sarutobi's arrangement.
Come to think of it, the Konoha Military Police Force did not seem to have any real secrets. Their operations were all aboveboard, so there was no need for Hiruzen Sarutobi to arrange for Itachi to join them at all.
Still, since Itachi had brought it up, Ren might as well agree. The Konoha Military Police Force was short on manpower anyway. Itachi's thinking might be questionable, but he was capable.
He could not turn down free labor, so Ren did not refuse.
"Itachi, it seems you've finally come to understand. Very good. You don't need to submit an application—just report in this afternoon. I'll make the arrangements."
Ren agreed with a broad, delighted smile.
"Yes, Chief."
"Mm, if there's nothing else, I'll be going. Work hard and keep it up. I'll be watching."
