Before Ye Lan could finish his inward rant, something happened that made his pupils contract even further:
The three dragon-shaped figures shrouded in light actually began drawing together as they rose. Eventually, they merged completely into one before vanishing from Ye Lan's sight, plunging into the black curtain.
"What the hell kind of form is that?!"
Even though Ye Lan knew this might only be an illusion created by Celebi, his mouth fell open, and it took him a long while to squeeze out a single sentence.
He had always felt that no one understood the Pokémon world better than he did. Even Professor Oak's knowledge of Legendary Pokémon might not be as thorough or clear as his.
But what he had just witnessed completely overturned Ye Lan's understanding, rekindling his awe of Legendary Pokémon.
As far as he knew, Reshiram and Zekrom represented authority over yang and yin respectively. The reason Kyurem could fuse with either of them through the DNA Splicers was that it possessed the power to balance yin and yang.
Logically speaking, Kyurem fused with both Reshiram and Zekrom should have been the most perfect form, with yin and yang in balance.
But in the original story, fusing with just one of them was already Kyurem's limit. And since its strength did not completely overwhelm theirs, both its White Kyurem and Black Kyurem forms became extremely unstable when Reshiram's or Zekrom's consciousness resisted.
Yet now, Kyurem had actually fused with the powers of both yin and yang. Pale flames and pitch-black lightning filled the sky, but beneath the black curtain, Ye Lan could not make out what was happening above.
"The complete Tao Dragon God? Could a form like this defeat Mega Rayquaza?"
Ye Lan had no idea exactly how powerful the figure in the sky
