Background / History

Transmigration and first partner

Ye Lan is a transmigrated competitive Pokémon player whose system is designed to help Trainers become Grass-type Champions. Drawn toward Grass-types by both personal preference and the system, he rejects other starter options and chooses a scratched, unattractive Pokémon Egg after immediately feeling that it was “meant” for him. He assures his parents that he will not abandon the Pokémon even if the choice proves disappointing. 2 3

The egg hatches into a female Snivy. Though Snivy initially acts aloof, Ye Lan patiently feeds, cleans, and cares for her, establishing the bond that becomes the foundation of his training career. 4 16

Mianzhou No. 1 High School

At school, Ye Lan earns access to round-the-clock training grounds and a Protect move disc through a Pokémon-knowledge assessment.
