"Everyone else, come on out!"
Not one of Ye Lan's Pokémon liked staying in a Poké Ball.
Even Applin, who had once liked the cramped safety of its Poké Ball, now preferred sleeping on Ye Lan's neck.
That had become a bit of a headache for Ye Lan.
Applin used to fit inside the opening of the Dragon Fang Pendant, but the little fellow had been smaller then. Lately, under Ye Lan's care, all it did was eat and sleep. It would wake up, eat its fill, change positions, and go right back to sleep—all in the name of conserving its strength and storing energy.
Ye Lan had decided it would do no training until it had fully recovered. In fact, it would not train before its first evolution, so it could evolve in the best possible condition.
As a result, Applin had grown downright pudgy. Its weight was far over the limit, and Ye Lan suspected he would develop a neck problem before his shoulders became uneven.
Applin no longer fit in the Dragon Fang Pendant. Instead, it held the pendant in its mouth, ready to sound it if danger arose.
Several flashes of white light appeared, and Serperior emerged first. It spotted the familiar people and Pokémon below, nodded toward Huang Yuntian, then coiled beneath a big tree and closed its eyes as if asleep.
This was the same tree where Serperior had liked to rest back when it was a Servine. The tree had provided shade then, but now Serperior was nearly as tall as it even when coiled.
"Junior brother, did you put growth hormones in its Pokémon Food? That's against Pokémon League law!"
Huang Yuntian stared up at Serperior, his mouth twitching.
How did it look so much bigger than his Gyarados? Which one of
