Along the way, Ludicolo drank dew when thirsty, ate Berries when hungry, and rested in trees when tired. Before long, he reached a small village in the Unova Region.
The villagers were troubled by the dry soil after a long spell without rain. When Ludicolo passed by, he buried a couple of Water Stones there to help moisten the ground and used his moves to water it.
Virizion happened to see him. Moved by his kindness, she chose him as her representative to travel the world.
Ludicolo's strength had grown slowly. In all this time, he had only risen a level or two, reaching the middle of the advanced tier. Even so, Ye Lan was now willing to call him the "strongest" Ludicolo in the world.
Dark days lay ahead for the Jindu Wilderness Zone!
People really could change beyond recognition in no time. In just over half a year, Ludicolo had landed a position Marshadow had spent centuries working toward. And whose representative went out alongside the Legendary Pokémon she represented? Shouldn't Virizion have sent him out alone, like Ho-Oh did with Marshadow, while she stayed home and slept?
"Shellder migrating back and forth between the Hoenn Region and the Huaxia Region? And unusually strong ones at that? Why does that sound so familiar?"
Ye Lan admired what Ludicolo had done, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he had heard something like this before, especially the part about those Shellder.
"Ludicolo, did you and Virizion come here for something? You didn't make the trip just to listen to Venusaur's troubles, did you?"
"Venu!" Giant Venusaur's deep voice rang out, answering Ye Lan's question.
The answer stopped Ye Lan's next words in his throat. He stared in disbelief. He had never imagined there was someone else like that.
Virizion
