Inside the dormitory.
Jiang Mu was still cultivating, his level slowly rising.
Creak.
Shrek's old wooden door opened with a crisp, teeth-grating squeak.
"You're back?"
Thinking Wang Dong'er had returned, he spoke before opening his eyes. When he looked up, he froze.
The person who entered was dressed entirely in men's clothing—long pants and long sleeves.
Short pink-blue hair framed a dashing, handsome face,
and both hands carried large and small packages.
"Hm?"
Wang Dong.
Why had he changed back into men's clothes?
Jiang Mu's expression stiffened. He had been planning to tease Wang Dong'er some more, but who knew he would pull this stunt?
Wang Dong merely glanced at him, then lifted the packages in his hands.
"You're my roommate, right? My name is Wang Dong."
"When I was outside the building, a very pretty girl gave these to me. She said she bought medicine for you, and the instructions are inside."
As he spoke, he placed the medicine on the bedside table beside Jiang Mu's bed.
A medicinal fragrance wafted over with his arrival.
Jiang Mu nodded at the sight. Did Wang Dong really have to slip in a little selfishness? Was he seriously praising himself while selling himself?
The urge to tease him surged up at once.
"Just how pretty was this girl?"
Jiang Mu watched Wang Dong's back as he asked. The other person's body trembled for a moment.
But he quickly returned to normal. Wang Dong turned around, sat on the bed, and crossed his legs.
"Heh, how pretty? You don't know?"
"She even brought you medicine. Don't tell me you've never seen her."
"I have."
"Then why are you asking whether she's pretty?"
Jiang Mu immediately broke into a smile when he heard that.
"But I think she was just average."
"Ha!"
Wang Dong instantly sprang to his feet like a cat with its fur bristling.
But being stared at by him in men's clothing gave Jiang Mu goosebumps all over, and he regretted it a little.
He looked better when he was in his female form.
Wang Dong'er was clearly angry too. He had just made Jiang Mu kneel beneath him, yet now this guy was slandering him to his face with that mouth of his!
"Are your eyes growing out of your ass? You call that average? Then I'd really like to see who you think is good-looking."
He crossed his arms over his chest. Whether he was jealous or genuinely angry, Jiang Mu couldn't bear to look at him either way. After seeing a real girl, looking at a tomboy felt too strange.
He wasn't some pervert.
"Heh, I was just saying."
Jiang Mu spread his hands and chose to back down.
Wang Dong'er really was a little angry. He had done that to him earlier, then even helped buy him medicine. Never mind not being praised—Jiang Mu actually said he was ugly!
Ugly? Would he have awakened the Goddess of Light Butterfly if he were ugly?!
"Let me tell you, she's my sister."
To stop Jiang Mu from saying anything even more outrageous, Wang Dong'er finally decided to give himself a fake identity first.
"Oh?"
Jiang Mu raised an eyebrow.
"She's your sister? No wonder you two have the same hair color."
"So watch your mouth. Be careful, or I'll beat you up."
After saying that, Wang Dong'er clenched his fist and lightly waved it.
"Oh, okay."
Jiang Mu glanced at the Revenge List. The killing intent had not risen; in fact, his true killing intent was now only 2%.
So it was just a threat. His gaze swept over the piles of medicine on the bedside table.
Was this how a tsundere got along with people?
Jiang Mu nodded again. "All right, then thank your sister for me. Thanks for helping me buy the medicine."
"Hmph. At least you know what's good for you."
After snorting lightly, Wang Dong'er returned to his bed and casually lay down.
As a young lady, she still didn't want to cultivate. After all, Da Ming and Er Ming spoiled her endlessly. If she wanted the moon from the sky, they would find a way to get it.
She was only slacking off on cultivation. It wasn't a big deal.
Jiang Mu merely smiled and began sorting through the medicine Wang Dong'er had bought. Though there was nothing seriously wrong with him, it was still the thought that counted. Even if he had to pretend, he would put it in the system space and consume it.
He looked through it now.
There was even a complete prescription list. The instructions explained what medicines had been prescribed.
"Hm, calming grass, spirit-congealing flower, tranquility leaf, heart-stabilizing fruit, goji berries, vitality-restoring grass, Six-Flavor Rehmannia Pills."
Wait!
Jiang Mu's expression froze as he looked back over the list.
What were those last three?!
"What's wrong? Don't tell me you don't even know how to take medicine."
Wang Dong'er, who was reclining casually on the bed beside him, raised an eyebrow at the sight.
"Uh..."
Jiang Mu looked up at Wang Dong'er.
"When you—when your sister got the medicine, did she watch? Did she explain what it was meant to treat?"
"She explained it."
"The doctor seemed to say he prescribed some medicine for mental strength, along with some other things. Something about preventing you from feeling weak and lacking energy in the middle of the night."
Wang Dong'er spread his hands and answered casually.
"It should be for some kind of physical weakness."
Jiang Mu: ...
"What's wrong?"
"..."
What was wrong?
This girl had no idea what was going on at all.
After taking that, he really would have energy in the middle of the night.
But he couldn't just have energy. Who was he supposed to make a racket with?!
Had she said something that caused a misunderstanding?!
Jiang Mu eyed her suspiciously. Under normal circumstances, if someone was buying medicine for mental strength, how could they possibly end up with this stuff?
The only explanation was that Wang Dong'er had definitely said something strange, or misunderstood something.
When some patients described their symptoms poorly, doctors could only pick out the key points from all the things they said and make their own guesses.
The doctor had probably taken Wang Dong'er for that sort of person, vague and evasive, and conveniently prescribed him some kidney-tonifying medicine as well.
"What kind of look is that? My sister kindly bought you medicine, and you're saying she got the wrong kind? Are you taking it or not?!"
Wang Dong'er crossed his arms, clearly furious. He seemed to be questioning what Jiang Mu was thinking. Why wasn't he saying anything grateful and instead just occasionally glancing at him with such a strange look?!
"Mm..."
Jiang Mu looked up at Wang Dong'er. If he didn't take it, she might make things difficult for him during tomorrow's inspection.
"I'll take it."
"Good. At least you know what's good for you."
With that, Wang Dong'er kept his arms crossed and leaned back. His other hand reached into the blankets, where he rummaged around and found the cultivation technique manual Jiang Mu had tossed over earlier.
He had to learn it, or he would have to keep running to the bathroom tomorrow!
Rustle, rustle. He opened the manual.
Jiang Mu saw this and pretended not to notice.
He put all the medicinal ingredients Wang Dong'er had bought into the system space.
Seeing there was nothing left to talk about, he lowered his head, closed his eyes, and continued cultivating.
School would start tomorrow. He definitely couldn't go sleep at the inn today, so he could only stay in the dormitory.
As for the class he had been assigned to, it seemed there was no other possibility besides Zhou Yi's class. He would find out tomorrow.
"Oh, right. Remember to get up early tomorrow. You and I were assigned to the same class. I asked around, and it seems the homeroom teacher of that class has a pretty bad temper. Don't get expelled on your first day."
At the sound of the voice, Jiang Mu looked up and saw that Wang Dong'er was only speaking without turning around, leaving him with nothing but his back.
"All right."
