"What do you think the ultimate purpose of the [Radiant Origin Embryo] evolving living beings in chaos was? Was that being truly so selfless, sacrificing its own life solely to bring vitality to all the creatures of chaos?"
Li Shun recalled what he had understood when he encountered the Radiant Origin Embryo in the darkness back then. "From beginning to end, its purpose was to escape the fate of death. By transforming itself into all living beings, it sought to achieve immortality in a certain sense-"
At this point, Li Shun paused, understanding dawning on him. "So transforming into all living beings was only the process, not the final outcome. In its conception, one day it would be reborn from among those beings."

"But can't Outer Gods return from chaos even after they perish? Why go to all this extra trouble?" Li Shun asked with a frown.
The Ancient Web gave Li Shun a meaningful look. "Being reborn from all living beings and returning from chaos are two entirely different things. When an Outer God returns from chaos, the authority it commands remains unchanged, and it may even retain some of its former memories. But the exalted name others perceive will inevitably change."
