Time flowed on.

Before long, several months had passed.

During this time, Fang Shu refined qi, refined Venom, read books, refined spells, and listened to Dao lectures. Every month had been exceedingly fulfilling.

Especially with the full three floors of texts in the Er Family library as supplementation, he suddenly felt that his whole being had a purpose. Many notions in his heart were gradually being perfected, one by one.

It was precisely because of these notions that, although he had already copied down quite a few spells from the Er Family, he had yet to formally cultivate any one of them. He merely sampled each one lightly, analyzing a bit of this spell and a bit of that spell, as though he were wasting his energy.

In truth, however, he had devoted his energy to integrating the spell systems of all nine branches of immortal studies. He forcibly restrained his urge to cultivate spells, so that in the shortest possible time, he could form an overall impression of the spells currently in use.

One had to know that although he had the Dao Register with him, even though it updated time and again and could grow along with his realm, its ability to analyze was still limited.

At present, analyzing a formal qi-refining spell required at least two months to fully master without the support of dragon qi. Usually, it took three months. Without cultivation notes left behind by predecessors for reference, it took more than three months—perhaps half a year, or even a full year.

Compared to when Fang Shu had refined essence, this was clearly much slower, as if the Dao Register's analytical ability had declined rather than increased.

But that was not actually the case, because qi-refining immortal cultivation methods were inherently different from essence-refining immortals.
