Nature and Foundation

An Earth Immortal is a cultivator who has reached Foundation Establishment. The conventional path transforms a cultivator's spiritual root into a spiritual vein, nourishes it with earth qi, and grants the cultivator the ability to remain anchored in the world through a blessed land. 202

Qi Refinement cultivators must first refine the three qualities of Human Qi, Earth Sha, and Heavenly Gang. Once the Three Powers are complete, they may refine a heaven-and-earth spiritual vein and seek Foundation Establishment. 149

Foundation Establishment begins with the Seventh Tribulation: Sinking Follows. A cultivator who has crossed it is neither subject to sinking nor drowning and can fly, earning recognition as a Foundation Establishment Earth Immortal. 367

Dao-vein Foundation Establishment cultivator	A rarer Foundation Establishment path associated with an individual Dao vein rather than an ordinary spirit-vein foundation. Fang Shu reveals such a foundation after reaching the realm. 308 328

Earth Veins and Blessed Lands

Earth veins are the essential external foundation of conventional Foundation Establishment. A cultivator may use a famous mountain, a hidden underground vein, or a captured and relocated vein; however, without earth-vein nourishment, Foundation Establishment is considered exceedingly difficult. 202

Earth veins can be cultivated through successive grades.

Authority Within a Blessed Land

An earthbound Earth Immortal is exceptionally difficult to attack while remaining in their own territory. So long as their earth vein endures, the Earth Immortal is said not to perish; an attacker must first overcome the land before reaching its master. 202

Within their dwelling, an Earth Immortal may exercise extraordinary regional influence:

• The four seasons may remain unchanged.
• Crops may stay abundant.
• Wind and rain may answer their command.
• Living creatures may submit to their authority.
• Their territory may be enlarged or reduced. 202

Capabilities

Foundation Establishment Pressure

Earth Immortals possess divine sense and spiritual pressure beyond Qi Refinement cultivators. Even a landless Foundation Establishment cultivator remains far superior to Qi Refinement immortals in these respects. 209

Flight and Resistance to Water

Following the Seventh Tribulation, an Earth Immortal can soar through the air and is described as neither sinking nor drowning. 367

Lifespan

A Foundation Establishment immortal is generally described as living five sixty-year cycles, or roughly three hundred years. Their natural lifespan is also stated to be capped at three hundred and sixty years. 164 312

Limitations

• An earthbound Earth Immortal's strength is tied closely to their blessed land; losing it causes a severe fall in mana and cultivation. 209
• Foundation Establishment does not guarantee safety. During the Mount Lu conflict, multiple Earth Immortals fell in battle. 241
• Vast Sea methods grant freedom from a fixed territory but consume earth veins so thoroughly that local spiritual mechanisms and spiritual qi may wither away. 221
• Wandering Foundation Establishment cultivators of the Vast Sea are especially vulnerable after death, as the blessed lands accumulated in their bodies can be harvested by other factions. 222

Status in the Immortal World

Earth Immortals are respected Foundation Establishment cultivators, but their status depends heavily on whether they retain a blessed land, possess a powerful backer, or belong to an established lineage. 209 318

Earth Immortal slaves have appeared at Floating Market auctions, though only rarely. Qi Refinement cultivators are not qualified to bid directly on one; only Foundation Establishment cultivators or higher may participate. 209

Vast Sea Immortal City alone is said to contain approximately ten thousand Foundation Establishment Earth Immortals, while the chance of one advancing to True Immortal Dancheng is estimated at one in three hundred. 337
