Her sister's face stiffened, fury cursing through her heart, her heart practically bleeding.
Like Erika, she worked the front desk at Fenny's Hand.
Unfortunately, Erika had acted decisively, while she had failed to seize the opportunity.
She gave a dry laugh. Remembering what she had just said, she was too ashamed to stay any longer and slunk away in disgrace.
Erika took Charles back to her room. The moment they entered, she could not resist offering up her red lips.
Holding Charles tight, she kept murmuring, "I love you so much!"
Charles kissed Erika until she nearly could not catch her breath.
Erika panted softly and looked at Charles. "You're too good to me."
"A Wizard's class card costs at least one hundred and fifty to two hundred Magic Stones. You shouldn't have bought two."
"One would have been enough. You could have told me about the lessons after you attended them. That would have been the most suitable arrangement."
Charles smiled. "When you were willing to give me all the Magic Stones you had saved up, why didn't you think about what was most suitable then?"
"Why is it that when it comes to me, you insist on finding the most suitable method? Magic Stones aren't meant to be saved like that."
"My retelling and a Wizard's own explanation are definitely two completely different things."
But Erika gave a little laugh. "But I made the right choice, because I believed in you. I knew you could do it!"
Charles held Erika and walked over to the bed. "Then just keep believing in me."
Erika continued murmuring, "But I don't even know how to thank you."
"Do you know how long I saved Magic Stones for this class card? It's been several years..."
Erika was two years older than Charles. She had arrived in Isata much earlier, when she was still very young.
Yet she had never managed to save enough Magic Stones to attend class. Proper work earned money far too slowly.
Charles smiled faintly. "Do you really want to thank me?"
Erika nodded again and again.
Then Charles leaned close and whispered a few words into Erika's ear.
The moment Erika heard them, her face flushed scarlet. She shook her head repeatedly. "No! No! Absolutely not!"
Charles said, "Come on, just once."
Erika's face was so red it seemed ready to drip blood. After hesitating for a long while, she finally agreed reluctantly. "Just once. Only this once!"
As she spoke, she pushed Charles onto the bed and slowly bent down...
Charles stroked Erika's soft long hair. "Hiss!"
Charles and Erika spent a day and a night entwined in the room.
Only after relieving their stress did they leave the room.
Having saved enough Magic Stones for classes, Erika temporarily quit her job at Fenny's Hand.
If she was going to attend classes, there was no way she could keep a full-time job. As for Magic Stones in the future, she could only find some other way.
Charles and Erika arrived at Loran's classroom.
Calling it a classroom would be less accurate than calling it a learning institution.
Loran was one of the teachers here. Besides her, there were another six Wizards.
Aside from Abyssal Grimoire, the courses included Pain Studies, Rune Studies, Curse Studies, and more.
After handing over their class cards, they officially became students here.
They could attend classes here for one year. After that year, if they wished to continue, they would have to pay tuition again.
Charles and Erika separated and did not choose the same course.
Erika chose Rune Studies, intending to focus mainly on Evocation magic in the future.
As for Charles, he wanted to study every subject, but a person's energy was always limited. So he planned to first study what would help him the most: Abyssal Grimoire Studies.
This lesson was taught by Loran.
On the new day, Charles followed the directions and arrived at the classroom.
There were not many apprentices here. Including Charles, there were only three.
That was not strange. Charles was currently a Third-Rank Wizard Apprentice, and very few at this stage had enough Magic Stones to enroll in classes.
Most apprentices who attended classes were Second-Rank Wizard Apprentices.
Charles had only been in Isata for a short time. Naturally, he could not attend the same classes as Second-Rank or even First-Rank apprentices, nor would he be able to keep up.
The other two had arrived two months earlier than Charles. They were probably from wealthy families, which was why they could obtain the opportunity to study right away.
By afternoon, Loran finally arrived in the classroom.
After entering, Loran saw the newly arrived Charles and recognized him. "New student, what is your name?"
Charles stood up and hurriedly answered respectfully, "Teacher Loran, I'm Charles."
Loran nodded slightly. A thick book flew onto his desk. "This is the course we will study this year. The other two apprentices have already studied for two months, and the lessons cannot wait for you."
"So after class, you will need to teach yourself the material from the first two months. I will give you three chances to come ask me for guidance."
"Yes, Teacher."
Charles sat down and briefly flipped through the heavy book.
The runes on its cover read: Abyssal Grimoire Studies.
After leafing through it a little, Charles was delighted. The knowledge here was indeed something he had never encountered before.
What did being two months behind matter?
Tomorrow, Charles would let Loran know what a genius was!
Looking at the new merchant in Wu Duo Duo Mall:
Isata First-Ring Wizard: Loran...
Loran had quite a few goods for sale, ranging in price from a dozen Soul Coins to several hundred.
Charles had already found the Abyssal Grimoire insights he needed for the Third-Rank Wizard Apprentice stage.
But insights were only insights. Without the original text, he still had to cultivate by comparing them against the original.
One class passed quickly.
Loran's explanation opened the door to a new world for Charles.
Loran came to teach once every three days. During the rest of the time, they still had to cultivate on their own. If they had questions, they could ask them during class.
After the lesson ended, Loran beckoned to Charles. "You're missing two months of lessons, so I'll compensate you for that as well. Come with me."
"Yes, Teacher!"
Under the envious gazes of the other two apprentices, Charles followed Loran out of the classroom.
They headed toward the higher levels of the tower. There were many Wizard Apprentices along the way, but after ascending two floors, he could no longer see any apprentices.
The atmosphere around them also became much quieter.
Charles's heart lifted slightly.
Loran opened a large door and entered her laboratory.
Charles tried his best to keep himself from looking around, but he could not restrain himself.
There were other apprentices in Wizard robes inside the laboratory, apparently busy with their work. They also cast curious looks at Charles, who had entered behind Loran.
"Roar!"
An angry roar rang out. Charles's ears pricked up as he heard something familiar in that roar.
It was that mutated goblin!
Clearly, the mutated goblin was unlikely to have a very good fate in this laboratory.
