Sincere

Charles's smile looked utterly sincere.

Yet on the face of a Balor lord, no matter how one looked at it, that smile seemed just a little off.

Kolsama gave a dry laugh and said, "Of course. Of course I believe you."

"But, Charles, how about we discuss this? Instead of going to your Millstone Fortress, could we choose another location?"

Charles smiled at that. "If not Millstone Fortress, where do you want to go?"

"Just name the place, and I'll immediately bring the wizard tower over. I'll hand everything to you then."

Kolsama froze. He said hoarsely, "Well... well..."

Charles sat up straight, tapping his fingers against the armrest. "My ally, are you in your own territory, or hiding somewhere in the wilderness?"

"From the look of you, your injuries don't seem to have fully healed yet. I won't make you waste your strength."

"Tell me where you are, and I'll personally deliver these things right to your door."

Kolsama felt a chill crawl down his spine. He gave a dry laugh. "No need, no need. It would be far too much trouble for you to bring them over."

"I'll arrange for one of my subordinates to collect them... What do you think?"

Charles smiled. "It wouldn't be very safe to have your subordinate collect them."

"You know how great this haul is. What if your subordinate runs off?"

"What if he gets robbed by other demons or devils?"

Kolsama immediately snapped, "Impossible! In this world now, who would dare rob goods belonging to the two of us!"

Charles said, "That's hard to say. After all, a sixth-rank devil heart core isn't exactly some cheap trinket."

"You should come personally, or I'll deliver it to you."

"Don't worry. We're allies, aren't we?"

Charles's voice and expression were both exceedingly sincere.
