As the territories conquered by Charles's demons grew ever larger, Charles's power also began to strengthen, if only slightly.

Within the bounds of these territories, any demons born there automatically became Charles's followers.

Though they might not even know who their lord was,

when Charles's summons was issued, these demons would become his soldiers.

While the greater demons under his command were busy,

Charles was not idle either.

Somewhere in the Abyss.

There stood an enormous city here.

Originally, this had been the center of the world, a city ruled by Hachiwote, the great lord of the Abyss.

And further back in time, before this world had fallen into the Bottomless Abyss,

it had been the city inhabited by this world's ruling race.

But now, its master was Kolsama.

When Hachiwote had died in betrayal, besieged by demons and devils before self-destructing,

Kolsama had been the first to disregard his own wounds and rush to this city, eventually claiming it completely for himself.

Though the city did not have many defenders,

because its original garrison had followed Hachiwote into battle, and the vast majority had ultimately died in Purgatory.

Even so, the city's stores had allowed Kolsama to make a fortune, which was also why he had recovered from his injuries more quickly.

Compared with Anog, he was far too cunning.

By now, Kolsama had not returned to this city for quite some time.

Aside from occasionally issuing a few orders, the demons here were unable to contact Kolsama most of the time.

Today,

the city was still filled with bloodshed and cruelty.

Demons clashed, hunted, or were hunted in every corner of the city,

and this was simply commonplace in the Abyss, even in this greatest of cities.

As long as they did not cause massive destruction or
