Of course he would not. After completing one round of curses, Charles briefly recovered his condition.

He was a fifth-circle wizard cursing a sixth-rank demon lord, so there was a slight backlash.

But that backlash was quickly smoothed away by his pseudo-sixth-rank body.

He sneered. "Idiot, you still refuse to come out, huh?"

"I'd like to see how long you can hold on."

He took out another scale and grinned savagely. "Fool, I have more than enough mediums. As long as you stay hidden for one day, I'll curse you without stopping for even a moment."

"Let's see whether you can endure the curses longer, or whether I can cast more of them!"

As Charles chanted, a new round of curses began.

Flames and lightning continuously fell from the dim sky above.

Great swathes of dark clouds emerged in the air, black lightning churning endlessly within them.

All of it was because Charles was crazily drawing upon the rule power of this Abyss World.

The five-story wizard tower also assisted Charles with the curse.

All manner of curse-amplifying witchcraft was released from the tower's various floors and descended upon Charles.

The black scale, suspended in the air by witchcraft, was quickly roasted until it curled.

Charles condensed the final rune, forming the rune array of the curse witchcraft.

Hiss—

Accompanied by the hiss of a venomous snake, the densely packed runes in the air condensed into a poisonous serpent.

The black serpent radiated terrifying pressure. It spun through the air, coiling several times before letting out a hiss.

Then it lunged straight at the scale.

That slightly warped, fire-scorched scale completely swallowed the serpent.

Even the once-dim sky seemed to brighten considerably as the serpent curse vanished.
