Charles returned to Isata. After a brief chat with Pushton, he went back to his own tower.
There was still some time before the meeting Pushton had mentioned.
With nothing to do in the meantime, Charles went to Pushton's side to study.
He mainly wanted to see what Pushton intended to do next, while also gauging just how great the gap between them was.
One day.
In the upper tower of Isata, Charles asked, "Tower Master, there's something I don't understand."

"If I went to beg them now, even if I got down on my knees, those people still wouldn't cast a vote for me."
Charles was even more puzzled after hearing that. He silently thought, If enemies are everywhere, then why return to the Wizard World to advance?
However, Charles did not ask that question directly.
He asked, "Then do you think there's any point in holding this meeting? What if all your enemies vote against you?"
Pushton gave a soft laugh. "Of course there is."
He looked at Charles and slowly said, "Before this meeting is held, I can't lay a hand on the other six-ring wizards."
"But once the meeting has been held, things will be different."
"They
