Charles stared at the Omniscient Carbuncle before him.
At this moment, the Omniscient Carbuncle seemed to have finally shown its hand.
Charles asked, "Why did you know of the Book of Causal Paths?"
The Omniscient Carbuncle, Charles, said lightly, "Why wouldn't I know?"
"I already told you that when I was first born, I was close to omniscience."
"Though countless evil, corrupting forms of knowledge polluted my existence, I still know many things within the universe."
Charles slowly paced before him and said, "But you are only a sixth-rank existence now."
"Like me, you are not a source powerhouse."
"How could you know of the Book of Causal Paths?"
"You have been trapped in this plane for so long. Which of your words are true, and which are false?"
The Omniscient Carbuncle Charles smiled. "I have no reason to deceive you."
Charles was still somewhat puzzled. "Why do you need the Book of Causal Paths?"
The Omniscient Carbuncle said, "Omniscience represents omnipotence. Right now, I can achieve neither."
"Once I combine with the Book of Causal Paths, all the secrets I know will become power."
"I can weave as perfect a future as possible."
"As for the Book of Causal Paths, the things it needs to expend power to know are things I already know."
"After I merge with it, I can use as much power as possible for the weaving process."
"And handing it over to me would be a good thing for you as well."
Charles asked, "What good would handing it over to you do me?"
The Omniscient Carbuncle smiled faintly. The Spine Chains and books on his chin swayed slightly.
"Possessing the Book of Causal Paths may not necessarily be a good thing for you."
"You think the two of you complement each other, but in
