Taking in Charles

Anderson accepted Charles as a prospective student through Loran while Charles was still a first-class apprentice. At that stage, he delegated instruction and recruitment to his students; only after Charles became a First-Ring Wizard did Anderson personally meet and teach him. 124

Impressed by Charles's Succubus-derived bloodline, Anderson identified him as particularly suited to Abyssal Grimoire Studies. He subsequently expanded Charles's curriculum from foundational wizard studies to planar mathematics, topology, conquest strategy, and shadow espionage. 125 127

Planar conquest of the Ocean Plane

Anderson recruited Charles as his Shadow Spy Wizard under a profit-sharing contract. He promised Charles two-thousandths of a conquered plane's profits—ordinarily enough to support a First-Ring Wizard's cultivation through the Second Ring—and offered him a soul companion as a further gift. 132

The campaign placed Anderson under severe financial pressure. He borrowed heavily to purchase planar coordinates, establish interplanar transport, and assemble an army, then waited for Charles to construct and activate a Teleportation Beacon. 219

After Charles activated the beacon, Anderson mobilized his wizards, knights, and students for the invasion. Hunt for a fourth-tier core

To become a Wizard Sage, Anderson needed the Wizard Plane's certification, including the core of a fourth-tier creature from a subplane. He asked Charles and Aiden to join a prepared hunt, offering to reserve fourth-tier targets for them in return for their support. 469 471

Anderson led the hunt for the fourth-tier Titan Armored Crab. He used a ritual and Tidal Priests to lure the beast, deployed thirty third-tier Blood Ring Knights, and served as the battle's principal spellcaster, weakening the crab with prepared poison and sustained witchcraft. 477 482

During the war against White Mountain Boros, Anderson guarded a key sector with an underpowered wizard tower. Three Fourth-Ring white wizards attacked him simultaneously, sealed the area with Dimensional Anchors, and pushed his tower's mana reserves toward exhaustion. 721 722

Anderson and Boxi survived by activating Fifth-Circle defensive and offensive scrolls Charles had prepared. He eventually used a summoning scroll to call Charles back; Charles's projection destroyed the attackers' three wizard towers and saved him. 722 725
