A cracking sound rang out.

Cracks appeared in the eggshell. They gradually widened, and at last, a head that looked like a cross between a venomous serpent and a dragon poked out.

Once the shell had broken, the rest happened much faster. Cracking sounds rang out one after another.

Before long, a young dragon had wriggled free.

After emerging, the Molten-Poison Flying Python stared at Charles with its black, slit-pupil eyes. The tiny wings on its back were still damp, but they were drying quickly.

The little one slithered toward Charles like a snake, but the eggshell was sitting on the table, and it couldn't climb down just yet.

So Charles reached out and placed his hand on the table.

"Hiss~"

The little one hissed, then slowly slithered onto Charles's hand. It wound around his arm as it climbed up, finally reaching his shoulder.

The Molten-Poison Flying Python's young form looked adorable. Its scales were smooth, like pieces of black obsidian, with faint red lines between them that resembled tiny streams of lava.

Its head looked like a cross between a snake's and a dragon's, and two tiny horns sprouted from the back of its head. They still seemed soft; given some time, they would probably harden.

The pair of dragon wings on its back were soft too. They would probably harden soon and be able to support it in flight.

The Molten-Poison Flying Python had already grown over a foot long when it crawled out of its shell.

When it first touched Charles, he could feel how cold its scales were. But soon, they grew warm to the touch.

"Hiss~"

The little one slithered onto Charles's shoulder and rubbed its head against his cheek.

Charles lifted it down and cradled it in his hands, carefully examining it.
