The next day.
Charles took Quake and Dalle with him, preparing to buy a ship.
Charles asked Quake, "Do you know where we can buy a ship that's both good and cheap?"
Quake shook his head. "Captain, it's hard to put 'good' and 'cheap' together when it comes to ships."
"A good ship is bound to be expensive."
"But I know a few places with reasonably priced ships."
Charles nodded. "Then lead the way. Let's take a look."
They made their way across Ship Island. As they walked, Quake asked, "Captain, how large a ship do you want to buy?"
Charles said, "I want a fast ship, around thirty meters long. What do you think?"
After hearing that, Quake thought for a moment and asked, "Captain, there are only four of us right now. That ship is too big."
"For a thirty-meter ship to have any combat strength, it needs at least a hundred men."
"Even though you're a Tide Priest, suddenly expanding your crew to over a hundred would be too fast. We have no way to control that many pirates."
Charles nodded after hearing him out.
That was indeed a problem.
If the original Claw Pirate Crew members were still around, then using those twenty or thirty men as the backbone before expanding the crew would not have been an issue.
But now, there were no core members under his command, no loyal men. Expanding rashly really was not a good idea.
So Charles said, "Then how large a ship do you think we should buy?"
Quake barely had to think before answering, "A single-masted fast ship will be enough."
"First, recruit a batch of pirates. Sail around for a few trips; keep the useful ones and kill the useless ones!"
Charles nodded. "Not bad. That's one way
