Gus left the Black Pearl with his pirate underlings.
After walking some distance, he looked back at the Black Pearl and flashed a grin full of yellow teeth. "What a shame to waste such a fast ship."
"Go find out where that rookie came from."
The pirate behind him immediately answered, "Yes, Boss!"
Another pirate asked, "Boss, are you thinking of making a move on them?"
Gus let out a sinister laugh. "That kid Quake is following looks soft and tender. Does he look like pirate material?"
"We sold them the ship, but that doesn't mean we can't snatch it back!"
"If they don't have any strength, then they can't blame me. Rather than let someone else take it, I might as well do it myself!"
"Kehehehe!"
After Gus left with his men.
Charles asked, "You know him?"
Quake frowned. "I do. He's Gus of the Garrote Pirate Crew."
"They have three ships and at least two hundred men."
"Two of them are two-masted ships. This one was probably just seized by them."
"That bunch has a terrible reputation. I'm worried they'll rob us after selling to us."
Charles patted the ship. "If they try to rob us after selling to us, it won't be much of a problem."
He stepped onto the deck and said, "Now that this ship belongs to us, let's start recruiting."
A seventeen-meter single-masted ship only needed four or five people to get moving.
But if it was to have combat capability, it needed at least twenty people. At most, cramming forty people aboard for pirate battles would not be a problem either.
Dalle asked, "Captain, how many are we recruiting this time?"
Charles thought for a moment. "Let's start with twenty. Recruit more honest, dependable men."
