This had been achieved almost entirely through the demons paying a staggering price in casualties.
The hundred-meter-long passage between the two walls was nearly stuffed full with demon and devil corpses.
When the demons below wanted to attack, they did not even need to climb. They could simply step on the corpses of other demons to reach the wall, then battle the devils above.
Some demons even stopped where they were and devoured the demon corpses on the ground.
A few lucky ones even gained advancement on the spot.
But many demons were also casually killed or trampled to death by other demons.
By the time the battle for the final wall began,
the fighting had gradually reached a white-hot frenzy.
Every demon had fallen into a bloodthirsty berserk state.
They yearned to break through the final wall, enter the city, and begin a bloody slaughter and feast.
Even the demons under Charles's command were incomparably frenzied, eager to launch an attack at any moment.
Within the city, the devil barons, viscounts, and counts could no longer sit still.
The devil count roared furiously, "Damn it, when will our reinforcements arrive?"
"Are they waiting until I am utterly dead before they are willing to come?"
