Background / History

The Uchiha Clan and Senju Clan jointly founded Konoha during the late Warring States Period, establishing the clan-alliance and village system. The era of peace under Hashirama Senju allowed ninja-clan children to study rather than live in constant warfare. 9

Story Role / Major Arcs

Academy Conflict

Uchiha Iwa faces Rogge during a Ninja Academy practical assessment. Despite using kunai and the Great Fireball Jutsu, Iwa is defeated by Rogge's Substitution Jutsu and Shadow Clone Technique. 4

Soon afterward, Police Force captain Uchiha Shu confronts Rogge over damage to a forest, falsely accuses him of collaborating with Hidden Mist spies, and attempts to take him into custody. The Uchiha higher-ups had ordered Shu to recruit Rogge if possible or eliminate him if recruitment failed. 5 6

Family Ranking Tournament

Zhenghong enters Fugaku in the tournament to restore Uchiha honor. Fugaku battles Rogge with his Two-Tomoe Sharingan and Fire Release but is defeated and injured. 10 14 15

Rogge later praises Hiashi Hyuga as stronger than Fugaku, provoking Shimizu and Zhenghong. He challenges Shimizu to a life-and-death duel, explicitly staking the Uchiha Clan's honor on the result. 17

Duel with Rogge

Zhenghong later realizes that killing Hiruzen's adopted seven-year-old son could politically harm the clan regardless of the duel's outcome. He orders Shimizu not to provoke Rogge before the scheduled fight. 20

At the duel, Rogge kills Uchiha Shu after breaking his Sharingan genjutsu with Conqueror's Haki. Fugaku's anger over Shu's death causes his Sharingan to evolve from two tomoe to three. 23

Rogge subsequently kills Shimizu using the Flying Thunder God Technique, takes Shimizu's Three-Tomoe Sharingan as spoils, and destroys the body. Hiruzen rules that the victor in a life-and-death duel is entitled to the defeated party's possessions and publicly supports Rogge's denial. 24

The clan leaves in anger but does not immediately escalate to a coup, as it lacks the strength to oppose all of Konoha. Zhenghong vows that the insult to Uchiha dignity will not be forgotten. 25

Rumors Against Rogge

Following Hizashi Hyuga's death, Zhenghong and Sōju Hyuga spread suspicion that Rogge is responsible. Hiruzen rebukes them for acting without evidence and orders them to stop spreading rumors and cooperate with the investigation. 45
