Background

Xie Xie is the young master of the Eastsea Xie Clan, a prominent mecha family. He has a strained personal motivation connected to proving that he is better than a person who never cared for him, which fuels his fixation on Luo Qing's Drytron mecha blueprint. 12 31

Before her death, Xie Xie's mother often brought him to Uncle Li's braised-crock-beef shop. Uncle Li remains one of the few people close to him, making Xie Xie's anger at the shop's extortion especially personal. 14 15

Xie Xie first appears as the escorted young master of the Eastsea Xie Clan. He later meets Luo Qing and Tang Wulin at Uncle Li's shop, where all three oppose Light Dragon's extortion gang. 12 14

After treating Luo Qing and Tang Wulin to a meal in gratitude, Xie Xie discovers that they are all assigned to Class One. He shares their disgust with Mu Qian's discrimination against less-talented students and witnesses her removal from the academy. 15

First Spar and Training

Wu Zhangkong pairs Xie Xie against Luo Qing on the first day of class. Xie Xie cannot pierce Luo Qing's defenses, hesitates after retreating, and is nearly struck by Tyrant's Wings before Wu Zhangkong intervenes. The defeat sparks his vow to surpass Luo Qing. 16
