The Specter World possesses social systems comparable to those of human society: specters attend school, work, and wage wars. It is divided among multiple factions that fight one another. 46

Conflict with Humanity

Specters from the Specter World are a continuing threat to the human world. Random specter spaces may descend directly into reality or manifest as dungeon-like spaces, requiring Ghost Ability Users to resolve them. 4

A Disaster Soul Rank 5 Corpse King summoned from the Specter World stated that specters come to the human world to slaughter humans. 9

The human world has begun invading the Specter World rather than merely defending against it, though the full danger of the Specter World remains unclear. 46

Entry from the Human World

Humans with Companion Specters can enter the Specter World once per month through a Specter Origin Pod connected to a specter node. Those without Companion Specters cannot use this method. 46

Possession

Upon entering, a human normally descends into a specter with the same serial number as their Companion Specter. The human must seize possession of that body, obtain its memories, and convincingly act as that specter for three days. 46

• Failure to seize possession leaves the entrant in soul form; surviving three days in that state is considered practically impossible. 46
• Inspection squads in the Specter World seek to expose human infiltrators. 46
• A specter possessed by a human eventually loses its memories and reason, retaining only instincts for slaughter and violence; such beings are called mutated specters. 46
• Ordinary students face a stated 10% mortality rate on their first entry. Glory University’s Calamity Class received Essence of Soul, which could trigger an immediate return if used. 49
