For Ling'e and the Chaos Bell's Bell Spirit, this period truly made each day feel like a year.
They did not dare leave Lesser Qiong Peak, did not dare discuss things carelessly, did not dare tremble, did not dare breathe...
Ling'e had initially remained calm about the Dao Ancestor's arrival, but after experiencing that oppressive force emanating from the very level of living beings, she too began to grow anxious.
Yet the Dao Ancestor and her senior brother seemed to be battling in some wandering state. After sharing a meal, they had remained motionless amid the woods.
The atmosphere was even somewhat... peaceful.
Beneath the Chaos Bell, Ling'e looked at the "transparent" bell wall before her and softly asked, "Is Senior Brother all right?"
"He seems all right," Bell Spirit replied, her voice filled with uncertainty. "But he also seems not all right. From what I can see, he is somewhere between being all right and not all right. Unless we go over there, we cannot determine whether he is all right or not."
Ling'e could not help covering her forehead with one hand. "How long has it been?"
"A few hundred days and nights, perhaps. They seem to be waiting for something." Bell Spirit clicked her tongue. "I really could not tell before, but your senior brother is truly formidable. Even a ruthless figure like the Dao Ancestor has to be pleasant with him."
Ling'e softly said, "Perhaps Grandmaster simply likes Senior Brother very much."
"Impossible." Bell Spirit hummed a few times. "Your senior brother's Great Dao of Balance has already determined that he and the Heavenly Dao stand in fundamental opposition."
"All right." Ling'e pondered for a while. "How about I invite Your Majesty Jade Emperor
