Wang Wu transmigrated.
Wang Wu was an ordinary university student. One day, while playing a game at home, he inexplicably transmigrated.
Wang Wu simply yawned, and when he closed and then opened his eyes, he found himself in another world instead of his bedroom.
Wang Wu stood there dumbfounded. Being instantly transported from his bedroom to an unfamiliar place left him a bit bewildered.
Around him, a group of ragged burly men held crude weapons. In the distance were tall, sturdy walls, packed with spectators, and the air was filled with shouts—the cheers and screams of the audience, and the roars and screams of the burly men nearby.
All of this was too surreal for Wang Wu to comprehend.
Wang Wu blinked. Just as he was about to instinctively scratch his head, he noticed that he, too, was holding a tattered shield and a broken short sword. Looking closer, he realized that his body was no longer the familiar one.
Wang Wu's mind couldn't quite process it. He muttered to himself, "Wh-what in the world is happening?!"
Before Wang Wu could figure out what was going on, or even make sense of his surroundings, a deafening roar suddenly erupted beside him.
The sound was incredibly shocking and terrifying, many times more fearsome than the roar of a tiger or a lion.
Wang Wu felt his heart stop for a moment.
Then, before he could turn around, he felt an immense force.
CRASH!
Wang Wu's vision went black. He felt a sharp pain in his back, and his entire body was sent flying into the air, his ears ringing incessantly.
"Aaaarrrggghhh!"
Enduring the most painful blow of his life, Wang Wu screamed in agony, feeling his body fly a long distance through the air before hitting the ground.
After hitting the ground, Wang Wu rolled several times before finally stopping. His face was contorted in pain, and blood oozed from his mouth, ears, nose, and eyes.
"What happened? What's going on?"
"Did I get hit by a car?"
"I can't open my eyes, and my body won't listen to me!"
Wang Wu lay on the ground, struggling frantically to get up, but he couldn't move an inch.
Wang Wu, unable to move where he lay, finally managed to open his eyes, but his vision was too blurry to see anything clearly.
"Call an ambulance! I've been in an accident!"
"Where is this place? Wasn't I playing games at home?"
"I'll be okay, I definitely will be okay!"
Wang Wu couldn't move his body, nor could he see clearly. He could only let his mind wander, thinking random thoughts to distract himself and alleviate the pain.
As time passed, signs of life slowly faded from Wang Wu's body.
At first, Wang Wu could still feel the intense pain in his body and hear the shouts around him. Slowly, Wang Wu felt his body no longer hurt—no, it was more like he had completely lost all sensation.
The sounds in his ears grew fainter, his consciousness gradually blurred, and various scenes from his life began to flash before his eyes like a rapidly spinning lantern.
I don't want to die!
Don't die!
What kind of joke is this? How can I just die like this?!
Having inexplicably arrived in an unfamiliar place and inexplicably dying, Wang Wu roared in his heart, unable to accept it.
I haven't even gotten a girlfriend yet.
What a joke.
I haven't even been filial to my parents yet.
I don't want to die!
Wang Wu kept screaming internally, unwilling to accept his fate!
His inner cries had no effect. The rapidly flashing scenes reached their end, his vision finally turned completely black, and he could no longer hear any sounds.
He could do nothing but think; nothing existed but his thoughts, and even his thinking gradually slowed.
Is this death? It's so quiet. Is there really reincarnation? Do heaven and hell exist?
In the absolute silence, Wang Wu finally understood that he was about to die—no, he was probably already dead, and his consciousness could only linger for a little while longer!
Even if I go to hell, it's fine! Even if I reincarnate as an ant, it's fine! Just don't let my soul completely dissipate! I don't want to disappear!
Wang Wu was an atheist and had no religious beliefs, yet at that moment, he desperately wished that things like the six paths of reincarnation, heaven, and hell truly existed in this world.
The idea of completely disappearing from this world was truly terrifying, and Wang Wu became increasingly aware of the fear of death.
Slowly, Wang Wu felt his thoughts becoming more and more difficult. Just as his consciousness was about to cease entirely, "x#@¥"
He vaguely heard a shout.
"X#^?"
"*¥%@!"
Then came a few more sounds.
"I can't understand you. What are you saying?"
The voice came from somewhere unknown, and he didn't know who was shouting words he couldn't comprehend, but he could sense the profound unwillingness in their tone.
Who is that, screaming so desperately? Never mind, it doesn't matter anymore!
At this point, Wang Wu found even thinking incredibly difficult. He had accepted his fate of death and began to pray for the possibility of reincarnation.
"¥@#%!!!"
The incomprehensible shouts echoed continuously in his mind, preventing Wang Wu's thoughts from settling.
"#¥%…@!"
The unfamiliar voice continued to shout incessantly.
"¥%……*!"
"I already told you I can't understand! Someone's dying, can't you just be quiet? You're so noisy!"
Finally, Wang Wu couldn't take it anymore and wanted the voice to be quiet.
Ding, System activated!
In an instant, Wang Wu's mind became active again, his brain started working anew, and his vision brightened once more.

The northern defense line of the Kingdom of Qiat was breached by Orcs. Large swathes of territory were occupied, and displaced refugees could only leave their homes and begin to flee.
On the road from the Kingdom of Qiat to the border of the Kingdom of Lucanir.
A strong middle-aged man carried a frail child on his back, walking through the wilderness, followed by a boy who appeared to be less than ten years old.
The clothes of all three were tattered, and the strong man had many bloodstains on him.
The child lying on the strong man's back had his eyes closed, breathing rapidly, and his cheeks were flushed, seemingly ill.
The older child seemed to be too exhausted, as he stumbled and fell on the flat ground.
"Dad, I'm so tired, boo hoo, I... I really can't walk anymore!"
The boy lay on the ground, crying and complaining. He was truly too tired to bear it.
The strong man turned back, a sad expression on his face. He himself was utterly exhausted, let alone a child. However, his younger son's illness could not be delayed, and they couldn't stop to rest.
The strong man squatted down and comforted him gently, "Harrot, just hold on a little longer. We'll be in the Kingdom of Lucanir soon. Once we're there, we won't have to walk anymore. Hold on!"
The strong man held his younger son on his back with one hand and stroked his older son's head with the other.
Harrot wiped away his tears and asked, with a sob, "Dad, when we get to the Kingdom of Lucanir, will we not have to starve anymore?"
"Is Mom waiting for us there?"
The strong man paused, tears welling up in his eyes, but he forced a smile and replied to his son, "Yes, your mom has already prepared dinner and is waiting for us."
"Everything will be better there. We won't be hungry, we won't be cold, everything will be better, definitely! So, put in a little more effort; don't stop here."
"Okay, I understand."
The boy listened to his father and tried hard to get up, then followed behind his father again.
He didn't notice his father's tears. His mother was gone forever, and the boy might only understand when he was older.
Although the strong man and the boy tried their best to hurry, they still couldn't outrun death.
Two hours before reaching the outermost village of the Kingdom of Lucanir, the child on his back took his last breath.
The father could only bury his younger son in a small mound of earth with tears in his eyes, then continued onward with his other son, Harrot, who was sobbing uncontrollably.
The act of burying the younger son was meaningless; merely burying him hastily in a mound couldn't escape the keen sense of smell of wild animals. Before long, the child's body would be dug up and eaten by scavengers.
The father and Harrot finally managed to reach a village. Although the villagers sympathized with the father and son, and the village chief was willing to help them, the village lord disliked refugees from other countries.
Seeing their dirty clothes, the lord frowned in disgust, waved his hand, and ordered them to be driven away.
The strong man knelt and kowtowed, begging the lord to take them in. However, the lord was unmoved. Instead, he impatiently called guards to beat the man and drive them away.
For the next few years, the father wandered with Harrot, drifting from place to place within the Kingdom of Lucanir.
Finally, he seized an opportunity to join a newly developed territory that was short on manpower.
After finally finding a stable place to live, the father and Harrot worked diligently to cultivate the land and build the village. Eventually, they successfully obtained a significant plot of land use rights from the lord.
After planting grains, the harvest was quite good. What remained after paying their share was enough for the father and son to live on.
During the farming off-season, the father also took Harrot hunting. Selling the game brought in a good amount of money, and over several years, they gradually accumulated some savings.
Life finally began to improve.
In a few more years, we'll have saved enough money for Harrot to marry a beautiful and capable wife!
The father happily envisioned the future. After experiencing all sorts of suffering, he finally had hopes for happiness.
Unfortunately, good times didn't last. Soon after Harrot came of age, the village was destroyed.
The new undeveloped dominion was ruled by a fledgling minor noble whose armed forces were insufficient, and the surrounding area was unsafe. A Magical Beast invasion destroyed the entire dominion, even breaching the noble's castle.
Harrot's father was directly killed by a Magical Beast, but Harrot himself luckily escaped with the noble and his guards.
The noble wasn't a good person; he sold Harrot to a slave trader halfway through their journey.
Harrot was illiterate, couldn't do housework, was slow-witted, and rather dull. However, he was incredibly strong, better at heavy, unskilled labor than even his father.
Harrot was over two meters tall and weighed between two and three hundred catties. Years of hard labor had built him a physique of solid muscle, making him seem more like an incredibly powerful warrior than a mere farmer.
No matter how strong a farmer was, how much could he be sold for? But an incredibly powerful warrior would be worth at least dozens of times more!
The slave trader thought it over and decided it would be too much of a waste to sell Harrot simply as a laborer. He chose to sell Harrot to the Gladiatorial Arena instead.
After all, people died in the Gladiatorial Arena every day. Even if Harrot died in battle, the arena would likely attribute it to his opponent being too strong, rather than blaming the slave trader.
However, some packaging was needed; the Gladiatorial Arena couldn't be allowed to easily discover Harrot's superficial strength.
As for how he was packaged, various small cuts were made on Harrot's body. The wounds were all shallow, and after applying a special medicine, they quickly healed, forming many fearsome-looking scars.
And wouldn't you know it, with this packaging and Harrot's impressive physique, the Gladiatorial Arena actually believed Harrot was some fierce warrior caught from somewhere. They paid 50 gold coins for him, even thinking they got a great deal.
After that, Harrot became a new Gladiator in the arena. However, for some unknown reason, he mysteriously died the very first time he stepped into the gladiatorial ring, and then Wang Wu's soul transmigrated into him.
