Outside Saint Dero Academy, in a luxurious restaurant, Thomas was hosting a banquet for his fans to celebrate his success in passing the Saint Dero entrance exam at the top of the class. A mature idol needed to know how to maintain a good relationship with his fans.
He shook a bottle of sparkling wine. When enough bubbles had gathered inside, he popped the cork.
White foam sprayed out, and a not-so-fake smile spread across Thomas's face.
Although the final results weren't out yet, he was certain everything had gone according to plan. He had delivered a heroic performance in the exam, dominating the mentor, and had also made ingenious arrangements for his competitors.
Just then, his personal attendant approached, looking tense and clearly bearing bad news.
Noticing the attendant's unusual expression, Thomas stepped down from the stage. Along the way, he politely turned down several female fans' flirtatious glances and little notes bearing room numbers.
His gentlemanly conduct drew another round of excited squeals from the fans.
Once he reached the attendant, Thomas asked in a low voice, "What happened?"
"Jia Xiu's exam results are out."
"Oh?" Thomas beamed. They must have been thoroughly thrashed by Gudrian and humiliated in front of thousands of spectators. "How many minutes did they last?"
"Eight minutes."
"Not bad." Thomas smiled. Though he seemed satisfied with the result, he was actually deeply displeased. Gudrian was supposed to have thrashed them—how could it have taken eight minutes? It should've been over in eighty seconds.
He'd have to give Gudrian a stern talking-to. How could a member of the Reinhardt family be so weak-willed?
The attendant's voice trembled. "Young master, it wasn't Jia Xiu and his team who lasted eight minutes. It was Mr. Gudrian."
