The trial began as scheduled.
The entrance to the trial's Phantom World was in a central area of the campus.
Aside from the entourages of the various brotherhoods, there weren't many students gathered in front of the entrance.
The trial was used frequently, so they didn't equip it with Eyes of Detection for a broadcast.
But that didn't mean nobody watched the trials. A group of observers would follow the entire process from start to finish.
They were military representatives from various countries.
This was also the main purpose behind high-level casters painstakingly creating such complicated trial Phantom Worlds.
They sold them to the military to use as training scenarios for soldiers fighting the Demonfolk.
The Phantom World technology had been developed for exactly this purpose.
The countries of the continent were currently in a state of truce with the Demonfolk confined to the Northern Wasteland, but it was only temporary.
The flames of war could reignite at any moment.
After suffering losses in the previous era, no one believed the Demonfolk truly yearned for peace anymore.
If their strength weren't lacking, they would have continued north long ago, fighting all the way to the Gate of Hell and into Hell itself, finding every Devil Archduke and ripping off their devil horns...
For this reason, the countries of the continent had not started any wars with one another in the Third Era, and they had never let up on their military preparations.
So this trial wasn't just a platform for students to compete; it was also an advertisement for the military.
Though there were no Eyes of Detection following each participant, fixed cameras had been installed at key locations.
Compared to following people around, this made it possible to observe more comprehensively whether the Phantom World was suitable for training.
