Could Arnold end up overdosing himself to death?
Seeing the notification, Jia Xiu immediately thought of all the people who had died young—not exactly in the prime of their lives—because of drug abuse.
He hurried to find Mia.
"Mia, I need to tell you something. If my deduction is right, Arnold must have taken all five units."
"Oh, five units..."
Mia rubbed her eyes as she woke from a nap. With her busy schedule, she had mastered the art of falling asleep anywhere, anytime.
She had just woken up, and her brain was still booting up, so she was a little slow to process the information.
"Five units, five units... He took all of them!"
Her eyes widened in shock, as though she were the one who'd taken five units of Growth Hormone.
"Is he still alive? Where is he now?"
"He didn't come in. I worked it out through a prophecy."
Jia Xiu pulled out a crystal ball. He couldn't exactly say that his Garbled Patron had sent him a message.
To prove his prophecy was reasonable, he'd even prepared a whole set of justifications.
"Oh." Mia didn't question Jia Xiu's ability to cast prophecy spells at all. She'd always thought the Association's assessment that Jia Xiu was proficient in all kinds of magic was pretty reasonable. "So where is Arnold now?"
An hour later, Jia Xiu and Mia showed up at the training hall where Arnold was.
Completely contrary to their expectations, Arnold wasn't dead at all. He was still training.
He was doing bent-over rows with a barbell that Jia Xiu knew he couldn't even pull.
"Um..." Mia asked quietly, "Boss, are you sure your prophecy was accurate?"
"Absolutely. I'm certain."
Arnold noticed them too.
"Master Mia! And, and..."
He couldn't remember Jia Xiu's name.
"Jia Xiu."
