The Caster Association was steeped in tension.
Even as the meeting was underway, the Association had urgently produced five signal-receiving magic devices.
Their efficiency was astonishing enough, but the more outrageous part was that the five devices had not been made in exactly the same way. Different teams had used different implementation methods and improvement ideas to create five distinct signal-receiving magic devices.
All one could say was that the Association headquarters had so many top-tier professionals that they were practically overflowing.
The five finished devices were immediately put into use and entered the testing phase. Once the people currently confined in headquarters had been tested, they would likely be able to iterate toward an optimal solution for mass production.
Although producing these magic devices in such a short time was probably already the highest standard on the continent, and the hammers in the magic workshops at Association headquarters had likely been swung until they smoked, it was still a drop in the bucket compared to the number of people waiting to be tested.
Long lines had formed before all five testing lanes.
Clearly, the Caster Association was not omnipotent. For instance, it had little experience with managing queues. This place had probably never had such massive lines before. There were no numbered tickets or calling system, not even looping barricades—just one stubbornly straight line.
Jia Xiu stared at the queue that stretched beyond sight, searching hard for a dip in its height.
As the developer of the detection method and the officially designated good guy at Association headquarters, he naturally did not need to stand in line for testing. He was looking for the Dwarf ambassador, Thorin.
Thorin. The name sounded like a Dwarf name. The last Dwarf Jia Xiu had heard of named Thorin had been surnamed Oakshield.
